Completed today.

After a few months our water system is all sorted. We have a relatively shallow well with medium hard Ca/Mg - don't mind drinking that but causes plumbing fixture build up. Plus we have some non-harmful very low level sulfur (smell) which is easily eliminated with oxidation. Other than that the water tastes and tests out fine.

It just took some fiddling and trial and error - I have the passive 02 from the air system all working, plus I have a KCl instead of NaCl on the softener side for normal ion exchange. Potassium chloride is friggen expensive, but it's just the wife and I, and we just don't blow through a lot of salt. Sodium is a poison to plantsand too much is not good for humans. It's worth it to me to pay extra.

Tanks........left to right

Well pressure tank (control switches and valves below)
Salt holding tank (front lower) - two sacks of potassium chloride, brine automatic
Soft water resin media, controller and such (rear center) paid a dude for this, with install, but was very reasonable and the company was very cool
Air/O2 media tank (right) FREE - people left it behind, was 100% bypassed, previously used potassium permanganate as oxidizer, no need for such a strong oxidizer, then I went air pump inject to the media, LOUD and blew GFCI, turns out passive air and one way valve is all that is needed.

Used my rickety car carrier and old Chevy to haul my daughters Ford Ranger from Oly to my place.

Not sure what's going on but almost over heated. Pretty stressful but got it home.

Probably going to do some minor repairs then put the Ford up for sale. First right of refusal to waguns members!

My leaf blower's performance had been going down hill for a while - loss of power, leaking gas, blowing oil out the muffler.... I had been meaning to get a rebuild kit for the carb for some time now, but I couldn't find the model # for the carb anywhere on it..... Just for the hell of it, I pulled out the manual to see what info it might have --- dammit, I had already figured that shit out 3 or 4 years ago when I had to get a replacement throttle lever for it --- I had even written the model # and rebuild kit # down in the manual myself :doh1: So I got a kit ordered up on Azon and got it in 2 days... Replacement went quick - just did the gaskets and diaphram - pulled the other parts to inspect, but didn't replace. Fired it up and with some (not so quick) tuning, its running like a champ again! Appears the gas leak issue is gone - will have to verify over time tho.

Quite pleased with myself to fix it for a $6 rebuild kit. After 17 years, those flapper valves and pump diaphram don't work as they should --- I had figured that out on my weedwhacker a couple of years ago - no surprise the leafblower would need it too. Should have done it much sooner.....

Built a shoe rack/storage for son and his wife. Should fit nicely at the end of their bed or entryway

Damned autocorrect! You clearly meant “shotgun storage for the foot of their bed.” thumbsup

Looks beautiful.

That’s why the compartment is lined. The shotgun I gave him fits nicely in it. Thank you all for the thumbs up!

I’ve been very slowly building out my reloading room, recently added this cabinet with six drawers. Still need to make the fronts and pulls.

New pains are part of the future algebraic equation to determine DIY .vs DIY.

One coefficient in that equation is a derivative of medical co-pays, combined with time down, and what you can’t do while you’re healing…

Good news: Woke up with no pain in my hip. Slept like a log.

Bad news: Dog woke me up. Uggh.
