Needed to trailer my Model T up to a buddy’s place for a valve job and new cam. During trailering, Model T windshields can get blown-in by 60 mph speeds. These cars would typically max out at 30-40 mph, depending on model. So their windshields were not built to withstand freeway-speed wind blasts. So I needed to build a wind screen that I could use for all future trailering. Another issue is that wind coming through the frame and under the cab can blow the floorboards out of the cab. The floorboards just sit in the cab - no attachment. Some guys throw sandbags on them to hold them down. I figured I would just seal up the cab sides so nothing could escape. Looking around at the scrap heap, I found some plywood, and some sections of conduit I had cut up for target stands a couple years back. First job was to weld up a frame for the windshield from some of the larger conduit. Here is the windshield, and the frame I built for it Then I skinned it with some half-inch plywood Made a couple of brackets to attach the frame to the cab. I welded some 1/4-20 bolt shanks to the windshield, and those shanks pass through the brackets and secure with wingnuts The cab sides were next. The cab looks flat-sided, but actually angles-in from the trailing edge of the door to the windshield. So the frames were built to match that angle. Here they are, and here is one side mounted on the cab Here is a side panel skinned with 3/8 plywood The side panels are bolted to the windshield frame up front, and bolted to the bed in the rear, again with 1/4-20 bolts and wingnuts So I made it up to my friends place with everything intact. The windscreens live in the truck bed when I’m not towing.

Nothing better than seeing the projects going on around the Model T.....except Huey. Nicely implemented creative solutions as always. I'm used to it by now, but always impressed!

You always build such dainty stuff Red. When are you gonna step it up? Strains my milk just looking at it.

Nice jobs Arisaka and MWRed!!! I managed to get a little help from the wife while putting in 2) 5000 BTU window A/C's yesterday while it was cool... One was a new unit and wouldn't you know it, a different size so the mating piece (a fiberglass door cutout) to cover the opening had to be re cut, 3 times...

Sometimes to the point of starting one with a new piece!
