Labor on the install was $2.75 per ft. I believe the customer got a great deal on the material at under $5 per ft. The best part about that material is that it's solid tigerwood! The material came with a 25 year warranty on the finish but it can be refinished at any time.

Not only is it beautiful now, with it being able to be refinished this flooring will last the life of the home and adds serious value and appeal should the owner ever decide to sell. Hardwood isn't the cheapest material but it's a great way to invest in your home. It's also much easier to thoroughly clean than carpet so it's also an investment in your family's health!

100% agree! It was a bit fickle to install and destroyed 3 saw blades due to the density of the wood and toughness of the finish. But I'll be damned if it isn't a nice looking floor! Amazing character and grain variation really liven up the house!

Staircases are a bit pricey due to being very labor intensive. Figure app $100 per hardwood tread and $60 per hardwood riser with material included. $40 for painted white risers.

Carpet removal is billed at $50 per hour and usually takes 3-4 hours depending on the size of staircase.

There are two threads on WaGuns that I will never allow my girlfriend to see:

1) This one.
2) TINCANBANDIT's kitty-for-adoption thread.

The less she knows, the better for my wallet and my sanity.
