In a plate, center bore, cross hole of bore? I am not very close but just did some work yesterday for my BIL. I have to head down and see Dana when he gets back, I csn try and grab it then. I will only have shop access for personal projects for about a month that I can be sure of.

Just to clarify.. Just how bad is this boogered up? Cross threaded? What type of metal? Blind hole or thru bored? Metric or standard ? Approximite size? This will help someone determine if they can be of help. Most important... How expensive/rare/of value to you is this object??

Not very bad Cross threaded? nope What type of metal? steel Blind hole or thru bored? bored through, but not full size, this is for threaded plug to put pressure on a spring loaded detent Metric or standard ? standard Approximite size? #12? This will help someone determine if they can be of help. Most important... How expensive/rare/of value to you is this object?? This is a Dan Wesson model 15 frame, I finished polishing and rebluing and could not get the screw plug to thread in, then I noticed they were slightly boogered up. Thread is close to a #12 I think, but fine thread. I don't have a tap that fits it or tools to chase the thread
