i just recently traded for a kahr mk9 since it fits my needs for concealed carry better than my full size .45 did. when i got this pistol i noticed the rear sight aperture is almost all the way to the right, and the front sight aperture seems to be a little left. any tips on tapping sights myself? should i try it at the range the way it is or try and tap both sights back to center and sight from there? my concern is i couldnt hit the broad side of a barn from 3m away the way it is now. i am right eye dominant and a right handed shooter. would it be best to take it to a gunsmith?

I would shoot it first to see if it's really "off." Make sure you shoot it supported (with a rest) and go NICE AND EASY on the trigger so you see the results of the gun and not the results of a bad trigger pull.
If it's off, then I would take it to a gunsmith since it sounds like you don't have the proper tools (sight pusher) to do it. Let a pro do it so you don't damage your gun.
We have a number of guys here on WaGuns that can help, if you don't already have a favorite local 'smith. If you update your profile with your location, I'm sure we can recommend someone.

It's not the closest near you, but the Marksman in puyallup has a gunsmith on site that I've heard good things about. They also have an indoor range there too, and offer a military discount for range use. You could give them a call and see what they can do for you. Also for the range, in addition to the discount, Free Range Time - All active members of the military use our range free of charge on the 1st and the 15th of each month.

Chris at Countyline is a pretty good gunsmith and I would trust him with my guns. That is out in McKenna (East Gate). But they don't have a range there, so the Marksman may be the way to go, if you can go when they are not busy. Seems every time I go in there, there is a huge wait.
