Blunderbuss and cannon insurance appraisal

Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:41 pm

I have a couple fairly exotic toys I use for work that I am looking to get insurance appraisals for. One is a fully custom made 4 gauge blunderbuss and the other is a cannon that weighs 800 pounds and I haul around on a custom trailer with a winch. I live in Arlington, but am willing to travel a bit. Obviously closer is better but it's proving problematic to find someone familiar with this particular expertise.

You might want to contact Loyalist Arms in Canada, they sell these types of items to individuals and movie houses

Be interesting to know the history of the Blunderbuss.

I grew up in Arlington and left for the Army in '82.
Dad had one I shot the hell out of. Small handful of powder and anything I could pick up off the ground to load into it. Although generally used spent 22 and pistol case's for the ammo, but I'd also use marbles, BB gun ammo and if feeling rich 2 and 4 shot.
That gun was a loud kicking mule with a nice bright light when the flash pan of powder took off.
No idea what happened to the gun. He died in '91.
