Welcome to WaGuns!

What took you so long to find us?
What do you shoot and reload? (Rifle, pistol, shotgun)

Honestly not sure what took me so long, just never ran across it before. Finally saw a link on "tincanbandit's" blog and checked it out.

I shoot and reload:

Rifles:
5.56/.223 (AR)
7.62/.308 (AR)
.300 AAC (AR)
.30-06 (M1 Garand and Model 70 Win)
.30-30 (Model 94 lever)
.243 Win (bolt)
7.65 Arg Mauser (sporterized 1891 Arg)

Pistols:
.45 Colt (Beretta Stampede SAA)
.45 ACP (1911)
.44 black powder (1858 Remington Army replica)

I also shoot a 9mm P320 (but I don't reload for it) and a custom 10/22 1971 Fingergroove Sporter.

My favorite has to be the M1 Garand. I wanted one for 40 years and finally got it a couple years back from CMP. It's a Jan 54 SA service grade with a new CMP stock, and I replaced all the mismatched parts (like op rod, gas plug, bolt) with period SA parts so it's all correct.

I used to bird hunt and shoot clays a lot, but haven't done that in the last few years. My 15 year old son wants to try hunting, so I might take it up again, if I can find a good place to go.

Tim

Great minds, right? I would love to attend a CMP affiliated Garand match sometimes if you know of any in the NW. I am not aware of anything in Central WA. Wouldn't mind trying Cowboy action shooting sometime, too.

My bucket list guns are an M1A (NM or M21) and a Henry Big Boy lever gun in .45 Colt to go with my pistol. The lever gun could happen in a few years, but the M1A is still going to be out of reach for my budget for some time, maybe forever. I have a daughter in college and a 15 year old son, an old car project to finish, and countless other things to blow my meager funds on!!

We have monthly Garand matches at my local club. I have never actually done one, maybe I should.
If you make it over here sometime, I have a NM M1A you can shoot. :thumbsup2:

Oh man, I'd love that! Where is your club? I get over to the left side a few times a year to visit family, that might be a fun thing to do while I'm there.

You sounds like a hell of a guy. :thumbsup2:

Welcome to WaGuns, Tim!

And if you've already got the Garand . . . meh, stuff like the M1A is just gravy.

Thanks, all. Glad to be here.

I'll definitely have to watch the Renton club calendar and see if anything lines up with any trips over the mountians.
