Howdy folks!

I'm looking to relocate from Colorado to Washington to get closer to family. I'm currently looking for work in the tech industry, preferably around the Tacoma area.

I'll be poking around trying to learn as much as I can in an effort to educate myself on the laws and shooting community in Washington before I can get out there.

Please be patient with me. I'm fluent in sarcasm. In the absence of this site having a 'Sarcastica' font, anything that I write that could be considered sarcasm, very likely is. ;-)

Thanks.

Welcome to WaGuns!

What kind of guns do you favor? Got any favorites?

Most of my focus is in the area of concealed carry. I'm a fan of the Walther PPS Classic, Glock 36, 1911 platforms, Walther PPQ Classic.

On the rifle side, AR-15, M1A, bolt actions and I hope to eventually get a CMP M1. I also have a desire to get into precision rifle shooting at some point
(maybe 6.5 Creedmore or .338 Lapua?). An AR-10 is on my wish list, but I'll wait until I can escape the Colorado magazine law limitations.

I have some experience shooting trap for fun and waterfowl hunting in my yoot.

I also like to plink with various 22s.

Let's just say I'm 'firearm fluid'.

I'm also an NRA Benefactor member, but I'm not currently thrilled with the executive level management. Does Washington have a state level 2A rights organization that has their poop in a group?

No, not really . . . but we do have some leadership and coordination emerging recently, so there is some hope for the future.

But for the moment, you'd better plan on a stop somewhere between CO and WA to buy mags. icon_eek

I had read that the magazine limit bill didn't make it back to the committee of origination within the deadline for this legislative session. Did someone dig it back up again?

I could always make a stop in Wyoming, another in Montana, and another in Idaho on my way. Might even make a few trips.

ETA: Crap, found that they did: https://www.nraila.org/articles/2020022 ... on-tuesday

I bought a bunch of AR-15 mags prior to the deadline here. I was hoping to be able to buy new guns with the associated standard capacity mags in WA.

Welcome to Washington!

Tacoma isn’t too bad. Any idea what parts? Waterfront, North End by PT Defiance or near the Mall?

I grew up near UPS (University of Puget Sound).

Thanks for the welcome.

I haven't yet figured out specifically where. I just think we'd be happier over towards Tacoma than Seattle/Redmond. My folks live in Sequim, so regular trips to see them are in the works. My Sister and BiL (Army Doctor) are getting a transfer to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, so that's also a consideration.

ETA: My wife gets motion sick on the ferries. They don't bother me at all.
