Hello, just about ten year gun owner now, long time fan.
I've had the misfortune of sitting on two sides of a wedge issue for a long time, and was an abivalent support of the Democratic party. Unfortunately, my sympathy for people that have no problem signing my rights away has thoroughly dried up. I'm probably younger than most people here, but I think I'm part of the newer breed of people that are socially liberal, but shun leftist nonsense because we can see the writing on the wall. Also getting rather tired of all the whinging. I came here to fight that nonsense initiative, but I think I'll hang around a while. |

Welcome to WaGuns! You aren't the only one with some socially liberal viewpoints (I'm unapologetically and vociferously pro-choice, for starters) so don't feel like the odd one out.

I do think there's a silent majority of people in this age bracket that are too poor to even think about exercising such rights (I mean, who can drop 500+ bucks to get a gun when your barely making rent?), or they just don't say how they feel because they don't want to rock the boat. But yes, I've grown weary of being a slacktivist, so now I'm going to use my powers for evil. /s |

Gun owners are actually a pretty diverse bunch. We've got a good cross section of society in this forum Nice to have a younger member coming in too. As mislabeled said, you’re not alone in having some split beliefs between the two parties. I think that’s a sign of being willing and able to think for yourself. I grew up in Canada so I guess I lean left but this anti gun and a few other issues I don’t like so I’d never vote for a democrat (if I could vote).
