I received this generator in a PIF from usrifle. He said that it doesn't produce electricity, but if anyone wanted to try their hand at fixing it, he was giving it away. And I won.

The good news:

- It starts up and runs just fine.
- It's a great size, easy to carry and transport, and would be perfect for many applications. (Probably not going to power your house with it, though.)

The bad news:

- As already stated, even though the motor runs, it does not produce any electricity.
- After doing some limited testing (pulled a few parts off, tested a few connections), my belief is that the inverter is bad. The price of a new inverter is $650-ish.

I don't know much about these. Maybe it's of use to someone . . . but it's no longer of use to me, and if nobody wants it then it will be in a future dump run.

I'm located in Renton, but I'd be happy to bring it to our New Years shoot tomorrow.

Anyone want it?

I'll take a stab at taking it apart. If I can get it to produce DC I might actually have a use for it to charge up an SLA bank. Let me know when you're free.

Also, if you need parts for something (like that inverter) I might be able to get you a discount. No guarantee but let me know if you want me to try!

A little backstory on that Generator. My father purchased new at least 15 years ago for my Grandmothers house on Bainbridge Island. It was never fueled or run, then like 6 years ago after my Grandma passed i brought it home.

I fueled it and tested it 1 time, it worked great. I ran the fuel out of the carb and put it away. A few years pass and i went to just run it and check it out and no output!

I fooled around with it a bit, then PIF'd it. It probably doesn't even have an hour on it. Apparently it's not an unknown problem with them, but i was done with it.

Hopefully Reginald can make it work cheap, good luck with it!

This was a great PIF. I don't know squat about engine repair but since it runs and I've got some familiarity around electronics, why not.

Thanks again Steve!
