well, I did vote too...

How about the ability to embed MP4 video? (can you do that?)

Embed or upload/attach? Uploading large videos is a server space hog and bandwidth killer. That’s why most forums allow you to embed from other sites like YouTube, Vimeo etc.

Here’s a downside to Tapatalk...I had no idea there was a poll.

Also, I agree that feedback is important. A “like” feature might be nice, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

Another Tapatalk user here as I like using it to upload pics, but Tapatalk has been super glitchy lately so if the mobile platform is solid I can accept change.

The whole “like” button thing to me is no big deal.

I like the feedback issue and think it is very important.

Thanks Dan & Steve.

Are you guys familiar with the WA Guns (no affiliation) Discord? If not, those of you who like the chat feature might be interested.

For those of you who aren’t gaming nerds, Discord is a chat app that gamers use to communicate. There is a WA Guns server that you can join and it has a bunch of different channels for different topics.

Here’s a link to the Discord app: https://discord.com

And here’s a link to the Discord channel itself.

Something I really like about WAGuns is that the background is not distracting like many other forums. It’s not all jumbled with poorly placed adds. The font isn’t hard to read. The palette is nice.

well, I guess we've fathomed the depth of my computer savvy. What I mean is... if you grab an image or a Mp4 off of IMGUR or elsewhere, when pasted the link says "123xyz.mp4" or something like that. And it is only a link to the source. The animation doesn't display here.

You can accomplish this with Image Shack or other image hosting sites. I had problems with images until I started using image hosting. It links directly. Just drop the link in from your hosting site.
I like Waguns for the same reasons the Dana stated. Site perfection. :wink05:

I think the user feedback is very important, Much more important than a "Like" button. While most of us have been here awhile and "know" who the straight shooter's are, newer members may not.
In turn, those newer Members conduct a transaction and then they are vetted with their positive (or not) feedback.

The Chatbox.... Is that really a necessary feature? Since Friday maybe 3-4 people even used it. Is that eating bandwidth or capability that could be used for other features?
I'm not savvy on that stuff so i'll leave that to you.

I personally don't see anything lacking under the old format, but then again i'm not all high tech either. It works for me and it's comfortable like an old pair of slippers.

:plusone:

on the other hand MAYBE maybe we can make a post just for feedback

a better SEACH function

as dana said like the pg as its not "cluttered" look or bold words contrast ect..

A FEW more emojis

Im on a few other forums where feeback is left for a member by starting a thread rather than a feeback system.

This...
And a "back to the top" button.
Some of these threads are really long.

I like the feedback system the way it is.

I like the fact that I can read a thread, that takes up the whole width of the page. Instead of having to give up space to sidebars and more sidebars.

I'd like a like button.

I'd like a way to change font size on just the forum. (Don't want to have to change font size, system-wide.) Without changing anything else about the page. (Old eyes. And whenever I try, like with ctrl-mouse wheel... the page goes all out of whack.)

Chat has always been worthless to me.

I never use mobile, and hate when it takes over, and I have to switch back to the full version. (Does happen sometimes. Like when you have to sign back in, because someone was messing with the board software. LOL)

I almost exclusively use the mobile site and I'd say my #1 wish is a more full-featured version. I can't use emojis for example - that's annoying.

I'm not an app fan. I don't like giving yet another entity access to my phone, taking up space, using battery etc. Give me a clean mobile version and I'm happy.

I don't think chat is a big deal, but I do think feedback is. It is yet another thing that is difficult on a phone, but handy nonetheless.

I agree that the simplicity and clean look of the current site is also an advantage.
