why not?
for 1 it would keep it in one place, and people would know where to post instead of 20 threads that keep getting moved around for reposts.
2 its logical with an election coming up next year
3 we are called a Community

Give people a space and they will not use it. Who the fuck wants to get into an argument where it is expected?

Here's the deadly combination for reposts: (Lots of sections) + (people who read one section at a time) = Massive reposts and split discussions Use "view unread posts," people. Only go to a specific section if you are looking for specific information.

we could be expanding and broading, yet we just sink and surround the wagons

Off the top of my head, here are the reasons to make new sections: - If you want to encourage more discussion about a particular topic. (For example, WaGrubs.) - If you want to make threads on that topic easier to find. (For example, handguns for sale.) - If you want to segregate a topic from the rest of the forum. (For example, we made the 591/594 section so that it couldn't be seen by non-members.) The reasons NOT to make new sections include that it spreads out the information more, and it requires more moderator work. For example, moving threads from one section to another. Ops, I'm not seeing the reason to make a Politics section. Seriously . . . help me out. Explain why you think it would be beneficial. Pretend you're writing a Glock trigger review; use lots of words.

Make a political section, and make OPS the Mod for it. Let's see how long he thinks it was a good idea.

maybe if you helped educate people on where things would go.

you just explained it to yourself. these elections affect us all. plus it helps clean up other sections from needless posts.
