Pretty much we all have home "work" going on. And many do car stuff. We could chat up tools as well. Just an idea.

What are the CONS to having a DIY subforum in the General Discussion forum?
I'm thinking anywhere in the pink.

Is it because of "clutter"? I don't like doing a DIY post and having it disappear in a pile of posts like the "WTF dad kills son after son finds his fetish stash pics".

I suspect that if we have a DIY subforum that the views will be high, even if the threads don't rocket up like in General Discussion.

My reason : DIY threads are not at all like most General Discussion threads. I think threads that include more effort and have some extra value above argument should be easier to find.

I realize that no one is compelled to convince me. This seems to be my pet project... But if you care to, convince me that a DIY sub forum doesn't belong here.
I don't -want- to spread my time onto a different website like "Homemachinist" or "Hobbymachinist" or another DIY website, but I don't like being in the same "room" as the "WTF" threads either.

If this is beating a dead horse I'll stop pestering you guys about it.

I see both sides of the coin...

I see PMB's points, easier to find, doesn't get lost, etc., ...

But I also see the other side....it's a Gun Forum. Granted, you have Grubs & Guts, but guns are used for hunting food, so there's a connection....

If you have 80 sub-forums, then, you are ChattyCathy.com, and the emphasis is no longer guns & gun rights.

Conversely, if you are a 'community', and people are sharing ideas and tips, making it easier to communicate seems logical, though you run the risk of non-gun folks having more input, and taking over.

None of that helps, I'm sure, just thinking out loud...
