Not the end of the world but...
For quite awhile now, I no longer get 'New Post Notification'....the one I'm talking about is when you are replying to a thread, and type something out, especially if lengthy, and hit submit; there used to be a notification that new posts have posted in the mean time, and ask if you would like to look at them first, or submit....
It's helpful to us slow typerers to not duplicate others' posts

I got one just yesterday.
Maybe try deleting your cookies and TIFs?

I delete them all the time.
You got one after you typed a response, but before it submitted ?

I did, yesterday.

Yep. It asked me if I wanted to review it.

If I remember correctly, we set it up to provide these notifications in some areas of the forum but not others. I don't remember which was which, though.

I think that was a shot...
And I don't understand it...
Ya got me twice

LOL . . . it wasn't a shot.
All right, I just went and looked. It's called "post review" in the settings, and we have it disabled for active forums like General Discussion and General Firearm Discussion, but enabled for the slower forums.
So yes, you'll sometimes see it and you sometimes won't, depending on the forum you're posting in.

This may be a dumb question, and, well, those are my best
, why is it deactivated in busier threads, too many notifications? Is there a way to let it be turned on & off by each user in profile?
Thu Feb 14, 2019 11:50 pm
Correct, the intent was to deactivate it in busier forums (not individual threads, but whole forums like GD) to prevent it from becoming irritating. We used to have it turned "on" for the entire site, but we turned it off for the busy forums because people were bitching about it kicking in too often. Sometimes it would result in someone hitting "Submit" and then assuming it posted, when actually it didn't because there was one more unexpected step to take, so posts weren't getting made.
Well, most of the bitching was by me.
No, it cannot be controlled by individual users.

If you heard the Shot, it wasn't meant for you.

Well seeing as you’re senior citizen now you might not even hear those shots meant for others. I think medicaid offers some really nice benefits on hearing aids to people in your age bracket.

Well, as long as
you're happy....
I get it...at least I know it used to be the way I remembered.
Is it possible to be tweaked for individual control?
I'll send you a cupcake if you get Dan to do it

Nah, we changed that setting years ago . . . possibly pre-NWG. I suspect you just didn't get it for a post in GD or a similar forum, when you assumed that you would get it based on past experience in other forums.
No, this isn't something that individuals can control.
