W. MT is more alpine but it looks so much like here. I can see the changes as we head east to Sandpoint but I haven't been further east on Hwy 2 yet.
The Route 66 fans are legion, but give me the beauty of Hwy 2 anytime. I still want to follow it out to Sault Ste. Marie (the eastern end) sometime. _________________ "Wherever you go, there you are." |

Hwy. 2 east from Kalispell to the Minnesota state line is one of the most boring drives ever.
Upper Minnesota is beautiful but flat. Same with I-90 all along South Dakota, except you've got Wall Drug and that says something in that it is the best place in the whole state. Nothing between the Rockies and Wisconsin from Canada to Wyoming is worth driving, and I've done Trans-Canada 16 & 1, Hwy. 2, I-90, & I-80, some several times.
