Good news: picked myself up a new ballistic helmet.
Bad news: 3/4 of the way through typing up the add on here to sell my old one, got all nostalgic about the many adventures with my old helmet. I guess I’m just gonna have to hang it up on the wall now

Good: Went to the lake with wife and dog. Rented a bass boat for the day. Caught a nice fish(bass I think).
Bad: Both got sunburnt. The fish I caught jumped off the hook in my excitement to get it on the GoPro.

Overall a good day with wife and dog.

Bad news first, timing belt I replaced last year went out in my van. Looks like the cheap Chinese water pump leaked a tiny bit to weaken the cheap Chinese belt.

Good news, after replacing the belt with a proper American one, it feels like all the cylinders are holding compression so it’s unlikely that any of the valves got bent. I’ll find out for sure tomorrow after I get the few parts to replace what the belt destroyed.

I rescued another goat, this little guy was big enough to have horns but still have his momma watching for him. He had his horns locked behind doubled hog wire. I stopped riding riding and got off my bike. Mom was pissed at me and he was not happy, took some wrangling and wow he was loud. But once free they were happy.

Bad news? The goat people still have not hinted at goat meat for The Pablo. Want some birria and tacos and smoked goat curry dammit.

Good on you for rescuing the little guy.

The part he didn’t tell you about when the sheriff drove by, honest officer I was just helping that goat over the fence. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

^^ Nice touch with Dana's patch. :)

Good news:So, from Flathead lake MT (Home) to MN, travel with a slight tail wind, about 11 mpg.
Bad new: Returning, I'm getting about 9.3 mpg with a slight head wind.

Good news: The Sumo springs make the 5th wheel rig very stable, unlike our first big trip from MT to CO. IMO, money worth spent.

Good news: We are glad we chose a 5th wheel under 36' because a couple 38-41 footers pulled in to the state park and couldn't maneuver into their spot or were just too big.

Bad news: One place we dumped our tanks after dry camping in Northern MN was disgusting, Deer River MN. There are a lot of rookie RV'ers out there that don't know to WEIGHT THE ELBOW DOWN when dumping. Nothing worse than seeing/smelling floating Baby Ruth bars all over the place.

Bad news: The smoke from MT followed us to MN after about 3 days.

Good news: Although KOA's are probably the most expensive to stay at, we love them for overnight stops enroute to final destination for several reasons;
Predictable
No riff raff in crappy RVs
Consistent power surge for AC regardless of capacity of the RV place.
Most have water even in winter months once south of Idaho (this is a winter observation from last year)
They enforce "Quiet time" from 10pm to 7am. As an early-to-bed guy I appreciate this!
