So despite WA having plentiful hydro power, thanks to a process that started when Governor Gregoire reclassified hydro as "non-renewable" and culminating with Inslee's war on WA's dams, Washington will lose its power supply and watch prices go up and rolling brownouts sweep across the state all in the name of environmental protection.

Meanwhile China is still building a brand new coal power plant every single day and laughing at us.

And yes I know they are trying to outlaw any form of off grid independence. Mum's the word, the grid is still hooked up and I pay the service fee. But my power ain't from them assholes

At hunting camp this last weekend, we talked about this very same thing. A lack of energy, but a push to increase energy consumption through the push for all electric cars and homes. Many new homes are being required to be all electric, with no natural gas option. That is total bs. I fully support energy independence and using renewable energy (as long as it is cheap and truly impactful). But not having the systems in place to increase energy production, while demanding consumption, is insane.

Add to the water worries the use by big big tech data centers of enormous amounts of energy and water to cool the electronics at data storage centers. Google wants to build two more giant data centers at the Dalles.

No specific mention of the amount of electricity these places use and the impact on energy supply of the dams are breached. I guess they can fall back on the ginormous diesel generators that foul the air around those DC's when they kick on.

Should have built those nuclear power plants.

Eliminating the snake river dams will absolutely cripple irrigation for a large portion of south central Washington and central Idaho.
Not to mention the loss of transportation of said goods, needing to be replaced with trains and trucks.
All in the name of appeasing Indian voters???

Don't fear, when you've used up your marginal electric coupons, ration fuel card and food allotment, you can always steal from your neighbor....
There's no possible way to keep living in Washington as a free citizen with the changes they want and slowly doing. The only way they could possibly and remotely succeed, is to ration you at every corner.
No dams, no burning wood, no fossil fuel everything electric. And they honestly believe that the electricity just is a free an infinite source that they can just pull out of a couple windmills..

When you know their end game, none of this comes as a surprise.

Cripple the economy, starve the people, then they will accept total control and slavery (aka Socialism).
