I’ve currently been associated with the Grays Harbor GOP and it has certainly raised my eyebrows and my ire on the local level as far as what’s happening right at my doorstep. This is where we should take the fight on a local level in our communities and forming outreach programs. Like it or not the progressive socialist are the best prepared party in politics and we must use their tactics against them. That means “Get off your couch and get busy.” If you do not fight the good fight to the best of your abilities then you have no reason to bitch about the doom that has befallen our beautiful state.
Do you have children in Washington public schools? Do you agree with the curriculum taught in Washington public schools? Want to help? This bill was created by representative Jim Walsh in the 19th District and it needs our help. Yes it may be out of your jurisdiction but you still have a say if you want to stand behind what is right and for what is taught in our public school system.
“Our next generation needs to understand our nation's founding principles which are no longer being taught in public schools. Classes about our founding documents should be included, as minimum. Rep. Jim Walsh has submitted a bill - HB 1807 - to require just that. HB 1807, his bill to create a comprehensive civics curriculum for WA school children, has a committee hearing this Tuesday (Jan 25) at 8 am.”

l like Rep. Walsh, and the title is great...IF they could concentrate on the mechanics of government and citizen involvement. But it quickly took on too much associated baggage and the usual woke qualifiers and apologies.

Honda made Civics 1807?
Any way...Obviously....most of your current politicians were skipping class, in the woods, smoking pot during Civics Class.
Maybe have him push for science class as well.
My kid graduated a few years ago...science teacher at back to school day said it was the last year they teach Basic Newton Physics.
Re: Common Core Curriculum.
U.S. Dept of Education needs dissolved.

I can’t believe that this state is so effed up with so many hometown people but I blame it on all the people that fled oppression and is creating it yet again where they landed. Please people, this will not take any more time to respond than the gun bills. Please help. GDammit, BP is on the rise again…

U.S. Dept of Education needs dissolved. All it takes is to make a lot pf people aware of what has happened the last 40 years and what is proposed to fix it. This is a start.

I really like the list of educational topics, but I'm not sure kindergarteners really need to be learning about, say, Jefferson's Danbury letter. I'd still support this bill 100% as is, but it seems better to make it a jr high/high school bill.
Honestly, the thought that any of this might not be part of current curriculum is disheartening.

I dislike the emphasis on "White Supremacy" and race.
Let's cut the bill to section 1and 2 through 2(iii).
It's a year long. Dealing with more is upper level work.
This is a big problem with legislators: They want to go from zero to 100 m.p.h. in first gear.
Baby steps. Regulated incremental steps are needed.

I believe if they’re going to do a reset they should scrap everything and start from the beginning. That is the way it needs to be handled. Dismantling of CRT, sexual orientation and political persuasions should be first.
