This thread is wandering into uncomfortable zones for me...

Me, I'd just ask for my position's guidelines and see where I was afoul of the rules.

Okay, internet is better now.

So, I was back by our picnic area around noon yesterday and the older folks that checked in Fri night were walking by. No wind, so you couldn't see our flags.
The old woman stopped and asked my wife what the flags represented. My wife said "State of Montana and the other is Don't Tread On Me"
I could see the woman's scowl from 40 feet away and they said nothing and kept walking.

Park ranger texted me 7 hours later and asked me NICELY to take it down. Sure, no worries, I'll replace it with my TRUMP 2020 flag. He LOL'd.
Most liberals don't know the history of the DTOM flag, they automatically make it equivelent to the confederate flag apparently.

We also had a couple almost take out our booth as the wife was working it from 5pm-6pm. The guy got too close to the window when checking in and then proceed to rip his whole wall out with the yellow post pictured. 8" of that post is INSIDE his trailer, seperating the wall and ripping the interior walls, water source, etc. The frame was compromised too.

We gingerly got him off the post by backing him up. His wife was in tears, his teenage kids shaking their heads. Really felt sorry for them.
They agreed to have their camper towed to Kalispell when they leave for MIssoula on Monday since shit was dangling. I gave them a 30 ft roll of 12" duct tape to at least close the gap so they could spend the night inside the camper. No gas lines were compromised but they were SOL for water.

It was the most exciting day for sure! :shocked4:

Oh fuck that would ruin somebodys camping season. Gotta remember the thing you are towing is wider than your vehicle.

As far as the flag goes, when politely asked to take it down, I'd politely ask if I was required to? For every 1 person that complains, what if 99 love it? Do you coddle the 1?

I have a lovely little garden size Gadsden flag. It is set up right behind my "Hate Has No Home Here" sign, in my front yard. If you've not seen one, the HHNHH signs have the same phrase written out in multiple languages (Spanish, Arabic, Hindi...I'd have to go look at it to know the others) below a heart with the American flag on it. And yes, I generally hang a rainbow flag on the other side of the garden flag stand.

Point being, I've only ever had one comment/complaint on it, from my oldest. Apparently the Gadsden has also been associated with "alt-right"/white supremacist sorts. I sorted it by hanging the rainbow flag opposite the Gadsden. So with regards to your being asked to take your Gadsden down, that sort of thinking may have come into play.

Yeah, that's my perception too.

Although . . . I might say it like this: The Gadsden flag has been associated with patriots, and we all know that patriots are "alt-right"/white supremacist sorts here in Trump's America! icon_eek

As long as the "one" is a snowflake then one out of 99 is a majority these days!

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.

Seems we are getting there faster than usual these days.

I wonder what will happen on the official Nothing Left To Lose Day for all those offended ass hats that have nothing better to do than oppress their fellow man for no good reason ?

Will they be offended when the shit hits the fan and they get a face full of their own stink ?

Fly the navy jack... it's how I got around my previous employer's 'no political advertising' thing. I rocked that pin for years...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Navy_Jack

It's still authorized today....

Someone complains, ask them why they don't support the navy...

It was Abraham Lincoln who said, “Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?”

It applies to both this underlying situation and this thread.

First, I think any time a situation arises like this, I would use it as an opportunity for friendship and education. The Gadsden flag dates back to roots in the mid 1700s, during a period of oppression not unlike today. Today we see growing cries for more government control, Socialism, and radicals in top spots in government. Back then, it was conceived of an implemented in various forms by brilliant minds and great men like Ben Franklin and George Washington.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadsden_flag

I think most people on BOTH sides of the aisle are feeling oppressed and frustrated with government. Today the Gadsden flag is symbolic of folks who are feeling oppressed and willing to stand and say "enough."

Applying Lincoln's wisdom to today, as to USRifle's comment, I am MORE than willing to bury the hatchet. I've demonstrated that in the past. I'm a fiery guy and I don't take **** from anybody. I've been sideways with several members here in very heated exchanges. We've met in person and been able to bury the hatchet. I've had great dealings with several of those members, and even had two over to my home, and had business dealings with others... I just really tire of a few members who go out of their way to make snide personal jabs when they have disagreements with me. Send it to PM or ignore it.

I view gun forum communities generally as we are all on the same team against tyranny of gun control and leftists. The snide personal attack comments grows tiresome. I've been around long enough to have seen several folks banned over them.

Asking you to read the thread before you post a novella attacking another member is a snide personal jab?

Wow, sensitive much?

And your ill-informed snide personal jab at sportsdad is what, then?

And why didn't you respond to usrifle with the same vitriol the other night, when he asked you to read the thread before posting?
