-defense against human safe crackers have created a manufacturing defect that's widespread among most safes where robots can measure a tiny variance and auto-detect the 3rd number in the combination
-allowance for human dexterity issues mean most numbers are actually 3-numbers wide to allow for fat fingers or bad eyes or hand tremors

While I agree that the "safe storage" laws are an unConstitutional infringement, it's a stretch to link that against expert safe crackers or those with sophisticated tools.

Their "safe storage" laws are supposedly designed to prevent kids or prohibited persons from easy access, smash and grab theft, etc.

All someone needs is a 3-D printer, a couple cheap circuit boards and to download the coding. And 15 minutes.

That's now. How about 5-10 years from now?

I've seen a guy guess 5/6 buttons correctly off a digital key pad 4-5 minutes after someone keyed them in.
Used the stock temp probe off a Fluke 87-V meter. Think he got most of them in order too.

Amazing how long the little rubber pads retains the heat from a momentary finger contact.

As far as the Sentry safe in the video, could just pick it up, carry it with you, and pry it open with a large screwdriver.

Black light is your friend!

Want to have some fun, take a black light around a hotel room after you check in.
First thing i do when checking into a hotel is throw the comforter in the hallway.
They are big, heavy, and cant fit many in a commercial washer.
They only wash them when people bitch about the hard stains.

Cordless angle grinder will get you into most safes very quickly

And get some of the stains off a hotel comforter!
