On June 12, Selah Schneiter became the youngest climber on record to make it to the top of "The Nose" route on El Capitan -- one of the most challenging and infamous vertical rock formations, in Yosemite National Park, California.

Was just on vacation in California including a week of alpine skiing in Mammoth Lakes, CA along with a rest day for single pitch sport climbing at a local crag with a professional climbing guide. Our nine year old grandson has real promise in the sport, quite brave, moves very quickly and decisively on the rock, and takes instruction well. Pretty much puts his 53 year old creaky grandpa here to shame Looking forward to taking him to Devils Tower in Wyoming in the next couple years for some high quality crack climbing and so he can start to learn some trad climbing skills.
