The irony is thick. Democrats dispatch armed men to forcibly return Republicans to the capitol and think nothing of it. Armed militia stands up and offers security and sanctuary to the Republican lawmakers and "OMG! We're under attack!"

To recap: Ordering actual violence in the name of progressiveness is ok. Having a perceived threat of violence from an opposing viewpoint isn't

I'm neither a lawyer nor in law enforcement, but as a lay person this whole thing sounds highly suspect. Does every law enforcement officer of every capacity have nationwide jurisdiction to do as he pleases wherever he pleases? My assumption would be that an Oregon state police officer couldn't legally do jack squat in any other state, regardless of what his boss tells him to do. Attempting to directly take someone into custody in another state sounds like kidnapping to me.

I would assume:

1. There would have to be a criminal statute violated. Is a state congressman skipping work codified as an actual criminal violation in Oregon?
2. A judge would have to issue a warrant.
3. Oregon would have to request officers in Idaho honor the warrant, pick up the subject, and transfer custody.

News reports made it clear that Oregon LE can’t do jack in any other state.

Also always entertaining to see just how far lawmakers will go when the bill will hit their donors in the pocketbook.

Bills that gut the God given and constituionally guaranteed rights of ordinary people? Nah, don't give a shit about those.
