You couldn't get me into a Russian sub. Those things catch fire, have a reactor breach, or sink all the time.
The Losharik program is highly classified. They go on the ocean floor and tap into or disrupt communications cables.

Losharik... it translates to something between a "dumbfuck" and a "retard", in the slang term...

The Russians are getting smarter. The reactor is isolated from the crew compartments. Reports say that it can withstand depths of over 20,000 feet.

The Losharik program is highly classified. They go on the ocean floor and tap into or disrupt communications cables. Any sub. Period. Fuck that noise. Tuna can sailors are a unique breed, and odd(not in a bad way odd).... I think it’s part of the job description.

This is typicaly greeny horse crap. Nuclear power is a doomsday device according to greenies. In reality, the safest and cleanest form of energy we have, including the "disasters".
There is simply no mechanism for a reactor to cause widespread problems.

There is simply no mechanism for a reactor to cause widespread problems. Umm, They can, but...….. A lotta shit would have to go in a bad way, in a certain order, in a poor design. (Which the soviets were known for in the cold war era)

Try watching the 5 part series Chernobyl to see how Russia has handled nuclear power in the past. They suck at it. They lie and hide stuff, a similar problem in a nuclear sub would most likely spell a environmental disaster the world over. There would be no way to contain the shit. On the bright side salt water does degrade nuclear crap faster. It is safe, just not In the hands of people that don’t respect it.

(Which the soviets were known for in the cold war era) Apart from leaking the fuel. How bad could it get? There have been a few(very few considering the widespread use of nuc power over the 7 decades) accidents/incidents. Read up on TMI, Idaho Falls, Chernobal, etc. These are anomalies tho... But I still believe it's still the best and safest way to get off the oil/coal addiction. (Maybe the most economic way also) Take the US Navys track record for example. Millions of hours in reactor time, very few problems ... And these are operated by young people! Smaller units with layers of redundency built in and intensive training. And practice drills. Neverending drills !! The thing that would worry me is the third world power plants and communist states. Who knows what the hell they're doing as far as safety goes..
