Be interesting to see the reactions from the alcohol advocates on here if this thread were about the harmful effects of alcohol, and the mental/physical/domestic issues it causes.
Both are gross have bad flavor and not good for you at all.

this is true, moderation is the key to everything...….. but the formulation in alcohol has never changed....ethanol is ethanol, has been for 3000 years....Marijuana on the other hand has been cross bred and genetically modified out the ass.....funny hippies will bitch and moan about Monsanto messing with wheat, but not a peep about their Maui wowwie or Pinapple Express
for the record, I am not defending alcohol....it has been the scourge of many peoples for a long time

Lol...
Hey Tecumseh watch yourself, that could be considered a microagression and borderline racist.

Though generally MJ is seen as causing less domestic and anger issues.
Alcohol causes "primary anger". Ex- "Little billy got drunk, became angry and beat his girlfriend up".
Weed causes "secondary anger". Ex- "Little billy won't get a job and now his mom is very angry and going to kick him out of her basement".
Bullshit... That's a typical alcohol users response
It's funny how drinkers historically look down on and mock weed smokers.
Let's try "Little Billy has lost every job he ever had...because he was to hungover to go to work, couldn't get to work because he couldn't get the "blow and go" in his car to allow him to even start the car, or missed so much time from being in jail and or having court every other month.
The common comment in the past was "well drinking is legal"!
I have several family members in LE...without a second thought they will say that weed smokers are FAR less troublesome than drinkers.

While the basic formulation hasn't changed...The distilling and or methods of production have allowed for the potency of alcohol to increase.
Cross breeding weed strains to increase potency is no different than having a 50' coil of copper tubing, a boiler, a pallet of sugar and all the windows covered and shades drawn downstairs in your basement to make "shine".
Which by the way is still regulated by that pesky group...Bureau of ALCOHOL Tobacco Firearms and Explosives
I know a couple of guys making shine...and both are old school drunks, still bitching about them "damn hippies" and their "wacky tobaccy"

I had a friend who was an alcoholic. He knew it and admitted it. Always paid the bills, took care of his family, etc. I think he had two DUI's. After the last one they gave him a choice, rehab or jail. He went rehab and stayed sober for 20 years before he died. He told me about one time in rehab when they asked everyone the question: "Why do you drink?" Of course you'll get the common answers, blah, blah, blah... but when they asked him, his answer was, "because I like to". They didn't know how to handle that one. I was with him when someone asked, "how come you don't smoke weed?". His answer, "because it interferes with my drinking".
Just a rambling story.

"Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and Firearms Policy Foundation (FPF) filed a “friend of the court” brief in the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, sitting as the Law Court, in the case of State of Maine v. Richard A. Tonini, asking the Court to hold that the mere possession of marijuana does not render a person prohibited from possessing firearms. The brief is available online at FPCLegal.org."

It's been so long since I've dabbled in the evil weed that I'm pretty sure if I tried some now I'd be pretty fucked up. High school. 2oz baggie = $10 Able to smoke at least one~two joints to get buzzed. Today, to get the same effect, all I have to do is stand up quick.
Uhhh Rick...a baggie back then was judged by 2, 3 or 4 "fingers" and commonly called a "lid"

Im about as far from being an alcohol user as it gets. The same case of rolling rock has been in my fridge since august. In the hot months of summer I drink a single beer after each hot day with my dinner. A shitty light beer. A cheap rolling rock, or if I feel I worked hard enough I will celebrate with the expensive coors light. Woohoo!! Come to think of it I haven't had a beer since we started this low carb diet a few months ago. Its not hot enough out to want a beer, IMO.
Ive grown uo with all the stoner friends and family. My cousin owns a huge rec/production facility and half of my friends have grown the crap for years. My cousin has gone at it like a bizz and done well. My friends are either "buy a bag every two days" kinda folks or growers that WASTE all the money they made on pills or casinos. Easy come, easy go. Losers.
Got plenty of drunks in the family and the circle to.
Do what you want, but I dont have time to be hung over or too stoned to work safely.
Think twice before using the internet to develop which stereotype to put folks in.
