Speaking of Costco and Glycine, I recently saw a Combat Sub there that caught my eye, especially for the price. $289 before tax. I wanted to wait until after Christmas to pick one up, but I noticed it wasn’t listed on Costco’s website, so I emailed their jewelry support folks. Turns out, they’re no longer stocking the Combat Sub reference number GL0076, just the Combat 6 and a stealth looking Airman. So what’s in inventory at various stores is what there is. That was all it took for me, and I cruised down to my local Costco and snagged one.

So if you want a Combat Sub for cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen, your window of opportunity at Costco is coming to a fast close.

It’s been three days and I love this watch. I sized the bracelet and then immediately removed it and put it on a black NATO. With how thin and lightweight this watch is, it’s so comfortable. I’ve been reading up on Glycine and the Combat Sub for a little while now and have been wanting to try one, and with this, I’m definitely an instant fan of the brand and will probably pick up another one or two in different colorways at some point.

What is the lug width on those?

And what no watch porn?

Tisk tisk

Glycine you say.
Lug width is 22mm on the 42mm (normal) combat sub. 24mm on the 48mm sub, but if you want to go big there are better choices.

I actually purchased a few Glycines over the past 6 months, mostly combat subs.
Wanted to see the difference (if any) after they were bought by Invicta a couple years ago, and the switch from the ETA 2824-2 to the Sellita SW200.
Great value, solid watch. Cheaper now than they were 20 years ago thanks in part to Invicta's distribution network.
Ashford has best selection and prices on Glycine (stamped factory warranty papers, 10% off coupon, constant sales, and $5.99 Fed Ex 2 day).
Just make sure you like it before you wear it, size it, or remove the plastic because they won't take it back.
Regulated the GL0082 SW200 "Splendid" (pictured) I'm wearing now to under 1 sec/day wearing and winder.
I'll post more on here when I have time.
You really don't need to spend a lot of money to get a decent mechanical watch if you know what to look for.

Glycine-Drop Special Edition Soda (Drop.com has Glycine do a production run of these every year or so, should get mine in a week. Sold out, but you can put your name on a list for next time)

My P Serial (circa 2000) Rolex Date ref 15203. Genuine except for the bezel which is aftermarket.
Has a smaller case @ 34mm so may upgrade to something bigger.

Also keeps shitty time, I need to send it in for servicing. It's probably dry inside.

The best I got is a Bulova Lunar Pilot Chronograph. Too cheap to buy a Speedmaster, so bought the lesser known Moonwatch.

Those are nice, thought about buying one of those, had an original Omega moon watch about 20 years ago.
I'm getting into the new high tech quartz movements...Seiko meca quartz, Bulova hih freq, and the new ETA 8000 series.

White dial, or the 18K one?
White Dial is a Pagani Design, 18Kchrono one is a Mont D'Or
Pagani has VK63 Meca Quartz movement, sapphire crystal, Ceramic bezel.
Mont has a modified Valjoux 7750, sapphire front and back.

Take a pretty big bucket to hold the cash for that one

Indeed...It can share the brinks truck shaped bucket with the Walther WA2000

Cosmograph had a hard start. They damn near had to give them away, almost cancelled the production line.
Bought my last Daytona , A series two tone in 2002 for $6,700.
SS always cost more than the two tone. Now a SS Daytona cost more than a 18K on strap.

Or you can buy a Pagani Design for $100.
Keeps better time (2 sec/month).
Until you fill your bucket.
