Thank goodness that the place we buy will have a basement for the reloading/ gun room, nice and cool. I will have to schedule shooting trips for early in the morning but that’s no big deal. Mountain Home is a great part of ID ! We liked the Lake ponderay area too when "shopping" for a retirement place in 2017. Prices have skyrocketed here and inventory at an all time low near Kalispell s scratch MT off your list for homes. Damn, everywhere on this side of the country has skyrocketed so buying is not even a consideration now. Going to get the house spruced up a bit and ready for sale to cash out on the market soon.

Yesterday I met the new neighbor. Long story short... they're from Fed. Way! He's not retired and still working but moved for the same reasons that myself and Casey moved for. TO GTFO WASHINGTON! He tells people he left because of the "climate".

Quote: California Bans State Travel To 5 U.S. States, Says They Won’t Support ‘Bigotry’ And ‘Discrimination’ Against LGBTQ Community Quote: State-funded travel to Florida and four other states has been banned by the state of California, according to AP News.
Florida, Arkansas, Montana, North Dakota, and West Virginia were recently added to the list which totals 17 states that California has now banned State-funded travel.
“Make no mistake: We’re in the midst of an unprecedented wave of bigotry and discrimination in this country — and the State of California is not going to support it,” Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta stated.
In 2016 lawmakers banned travel to states that expressed discrimination against the LGBTQ community.
These states include Texas, Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, Mississippi, Tennessee.
The five new states have recently created legislation that bans transgender biological males from competing in womens’ sports. https://m.analyzingamerica.org/2021/06/635796/?fbclid=IwAR1WPC1P76Z6dXxWvEK12GZH4t3xWg60o740Bqd3WEudML-l-cFAw2R2O5cBoo hoo, I'm all broken up over this.

^ Wow. They're drawing some pretty good lines there. Not sure how that's helpful to anyone, but it does serve as some excellent virtue-signalling.

OMG!!!! They are raising our driver license fees. Now before you all go off the deep end and start telling, "We told you so", let's look at the rates. Quote: Starting on July 1, the fees for driver's licenses will increase in Idaho. The increase is due to House Bill 161 that was passed and signed by Governor Brad Little.
Quote: The new costs are as followed:
Class D (3-year) license — under age 18 years - $30.00 Class D (3-year) license — age 18 to 21 years - $30.00 Class D (1-year) license — age 17 years or age 20 years -$20.00 Four-year Class D license — age 21 years and older - $35.00 Eight-year Class D license — age 21 to 63 years - $60.00 Class D instruction permit or supervised instruction permit - $20.00 Duplicate driver's license or permit issued - $20.00 License classification change (upgrade) - $30.00 Endorsement addition - $20.00 Knowledge test - $5.00 Seasonal driver’s license - $44.00 4-year ID card - $15.00 8-year ID card - $25.00 The fees represent a $5.00 increase except for the cost for testing which is a $2.00 increase. Commercial driver licenses and Permits will remain the same price with no increases. No complaints from me.

I'll have to look up what the actual rates are but one thing that works for me is if you own and live in the house, the first $100,000 off the value is free. i.e. house cost $250K, you only pay tax on $150k.

Try making a $2500.00 rent payment earning $15-16/hr. (IF an apartment is even available) https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/idaho ... newsletter"Homes in the mountains and small resort towns have been hot commodities during the pandemic, as city dwellers wanted clean air and space. However, there's one unintentional side effect of new money flooding these rural communities, that is, locals and the working-poor are being priced out of homeownership and or enting (sic)."
