Ok so I dont know much about Binoculars except that they are super handy and are a must for any outdoor activity, I had a pretty cool set of Fuji M24 10x40s and I freaking lost them in our move and seeing that good glass can get dam spendy what are some opinions from you guys?

I like compact & lightweight

I like the set that is posted here on the board but those are way too big for my needs.

Your price range is going to drastically narrow down your search. What you looking to spend?

While researching, check Roof Prisms .vs Porros Prisms...

This may factor in to your cost/weight/performance analysis

Sometimes you have to draw the answers out of folks.... Okay Jason...

Nikon Monarchs and Olympus Pros are in the $5-600 range.(Kenmore Camera) These are 10x42 models similar to your old ones, I'm guessing.

You can get into some Vortex glass for half or a little more.

Like other optics, narrow down your requirements and buy the best ($$) you can afford. With glass I really am a believer in the "Buy once, cry once" theory. Having said that, nowadays most major brands' top line stuff is pretty good. Not so much their catalog or economy lines.

A lot of times in a search like this you might want to narrow your search down to a few particular brands and models you are leaning towards, then come back and ask again about those specific units. Then you might get info from someone who actually has hands (eyes) on experience with what you are already considering, based on your criteria.

My $.03 1/2 worth. Good luck! Let us know what you get.

I have binos that cost $200. And then I have binos that are over a grand.

In the $200 range your best best is Vortex Diamondbacks. If you can step it up to $350~ish then I’d look at the Maven C.1. Mavens are, in my opinion, some of the best binos on the market right now dollar for dollar.
