Supposedly, 2 spy researchers from China were at a Canadian facility and were caught sending info to the Wuhan facility. Here is some medical dudes that have spent time in China and their opinions on the current events.

Guys. H5N1 supposedly had a mortality rate of 60%.

This thing only has a mortality rate of 7%.

That is on the LOW end of average for influenza mortality rate...

That's some crisis!

Edit: I kept looking for stats. Looks like most estimates of mortality rate for H5N1 varied kind of wildly from 14% to 33%. Nothing like the 60% shown on WIKI.

Still, even taking the lowest estimate, this coronavirus is only half the mortality rate. And no one was prdedicting a zombie apocalypse with that one...

I'm not sure we know what the fatality rate is. China is underreporting perhaps intentionally, and probably there are cases which are not reported due to ignorance.

Here's some news from HK:

Protestors burn down proposed quarantine site.

Fifth case in Arizona with 30 more suspected

I think the issue here isn't that it has a lower mortality rate but it has a lot longer incubation time to feel the symptoms but the person can still transmit to someone else in that time. All this while it's Chinese and Asian New Year celebrations happening all over that region. Think Thanksgiving travel madness but like 10x.

A recent report being it had a reproductive value "R Naught" of 3.8. In comparison to the regular flu, with a factor of 1 this is pretty contagious. Yes, that is pretty troublesome. One piece of info that we haven't heard is how long this novel virus can survive outside the human body. Flu can last up to 48 hrs under decent conditions and the cold a few hours. That would contribute to quickly spreading and infecting vast numbers of people.

Also, Whuhan is a major population and transit center for China. I dont trust the "Peoples Republic" to give anyone correct information. Remeber Chernobyl and the fake news about their death tolls and completly hiding the seriousness of the situation?

We'll see what happens. I hope it's all just fluff but I wouldn't want to get wjat they got. Thanks but I don't wanna go out that way.

Here is live construction of the 2 hospitals that are suppose to be built in 6 days. Is it even possible for the ground to be prepared for a foundation that quickly?

China’s building capabilities are insane. 6 days is not unreasonably when you can afford thousands of people to work on it and those pesky building permits and environment impact statements don’t really exist in China which is what usually takes the most time in construction.

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

I like that they will have a vaccine for this.... In two years.

Yeah. Like 18 months after every person on the planet has already gotten it. LOL

The 5th confirmed case in Singapore stayed in my brother in law's condo. Rita's 82 year old mother lives with him. There are two buildings and the infected person stayed with his neighbor in the building next to his. The buildings are completely walled in, but fortunately they have separate elevators, so it's unlikely any of my family came into contact inside an enclosed space.
