Way to buy into some more divide and conquer, so your overlords can get off scott free with ass raping the economy, and fucking destroying the Constitution.
Everyone will end up with this virus, or one of the family of viruses that has mutated out of the original, that is how it works.
How about we have free people deciding their fates in a functional economy, just like we have for centuries on end regardless of whatever epidemic has been happening ?
Some malevolent folks have coordinated a world wide attack on your freedom, and ability to live and work normally.
That - is fucked up. Get fucking righteously outraged about that, Grasshopper.

There was another deadly flu epidemic in the United States. The flu spread from Hong Kong to the United States, arriving December 1968 and peaking a year later. It ultimately killed 100,000 people in the U.S., mostly over the age of 65, and one million worldwide.
Lifespan in the US in those days was 70 whereas it is 78 today. Population was 200 million as compared with 328 million today. It was also a healthier population with low obesity. If it would be possible to extrapolate the death data based on population and demographics, we might be looking at a quarter million deaths today from this virus. So in terms of lethality, it was as deadly and scary as COVID-19 if not more so, though we shall have to wait to see.

Wow. Great article. That lead me down a rabbit hole a bit.
How did you find it?

I'm now trying to understand. I've been reading that the death tolls were now up to 60 to 70,000 deaths.
I saw a link to CDC, which I thought was the .gov website that is over the Coronavirus bullshit. I clicked on the website for MY first time, and it lists the total death toll at 37,000. I also see the word "Provisional". (Which to me, mean its not set in stone.)
Yet the News reports over 60K+ deaths.
What am I missing???

If you click through to the guy’s Facebook page, someone explains it. Earlier today, it was a the first post. there is also an explanation here:
The real deal is that they won’t know how many died until they do a mortality analysis at some point in the future. With that, they’ll identify the “excess” deaths and those will be attributed to COVID. While its an estimate, its actually more accurate because it eliminates all the “he was going to die anyway” or “but deaths from auto accidents are down” type of discussions because that data is accounted for in the rates.

They not only hoarded supplies, they asked for and received donations from many nations, in the form of personal safety supplies.
Then they turned around and offered the personal safety supplies back to those countries, (including us)... Followed by bills for millions of dollars for those very supplies...
We DONATED the supplies to them. They offered to donate them back to us. But then they charged us for them. And Italy. And several other nations.
But only after they had held onto them for long enough to be assured as many deaths here, as possible.
Why am I the only one who considers all the things china has done... an act of war?

We sent them Remdesivir to save lives, and the first thing they did was try to copy it.
Then again, this is the same country that sold us baby formula with melamine in it to boost the tested protein levels. Sickened more than 50k infants and killed 4.
Let's just say that their behavior is sociopathic.

They didn't copy it.
They patented it.
Well, technically they probably had to be able to copy it, to patent it... LOL

the narrator's condescending tone (however righteous) is somewhat distracting, but the content is compelling. I'm only about an hour into it.
both sides share in the atrocity that is "diplomacy"
EDIT: BTW consideration of alternate perspectives and the past is as conciliatory as I will be towards the CCP. We have to be as vigilant in policing our own (pols) as we are of potential foes.

It appeared Martin would have to remain closed for the near future after Inslee on Friday extended the state’s stay-at-home order through May 31. Under his four-phase plan to reopen the state, barbershops and hair salons wouldn’t open until Phase 2, which is not expected to begin for several weeks.
But Martin now says he’s tired of waiting for the government to give the green light on when to reopen.
He said he turned the lights and “Open” sign back on after seeing Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney’s Facebook post from last month that said he will not enforce the governor’s order because it is a violation of constitutional rights.
“If they fine me, take away my license, or not renew it, I’m going to operate anyway,” Martin told the station. “What are you going to do now? I don’t need a piece of paper to do what I’ve been doing for 60 years.”
Martin said he received support from customers who lined up outside the shop over the weekend, with some leaving extra tips and even paying double.

In February 1957, a new influenza A (H2N2) virus emerged in East Asia, triggering a pandemic (“Asian Flu”). This H2N2 virus was comprised of three different genes from an H2N2 virus that originated from an avian influenza A virus, including the H2 hemagglutinin and the N2 neuraminidase genes. It was first reported in Singapore in February 1957, Hong Kong in April 1957, and in coastal cities in the United States in summer 1957. The estimated number of deaths was 1.1 million worldwide and 116,000 in the United States.
