If you are not picking up on what I am writing above, you may lack critical thinking skills.

The key, is that rate of death normalized? You take millions and millions of people and do anything, say check rectal temperature, for example, some hundreds of those will die within 24 hours...........does not mean that thermometer was coated with thallium.

*Shudder*

Ok, that's it. I'm-a going to go crawl back in bed again...

Wait. Do people die after crawling back in bed again?

Why are the numbers the same for Florida, as they are for California?

Well, not quite true, California is significantly worse than Florida.....

On another note, I had a long talk with a guy I went to Afghanistan with. He married later, and his wife recently joined the Air Guard a few years ago, to his chagrin. She also is a flight attendant. Took the COVID jab a few weeks ago and she has been sick in bed since then. Can't go to work.

He also suspects she had COVID, pre-COVID days, in Nov 2019. Breathing difficulty, shortness of breath, headache, malaise, etc.

From IBD (not LIBERAL):

Quote:
Coronavirus Update: 41 Days Of Decline

New Covid-19 cases reported daily in the U.S. and worldwide have, on average, now declined for 41 straight days. Worldwide, the average number of new cases reported daily hit a high of 745,985 on Jan. 11. By Sunday, that number dropped to 360,270, a decrease of nearly 50%.

In the U.S., the seven-day average for new reported cases fell on Sunday to 69,002, the lowest level since Oct. 24. The seven-day average reached a peak of 255,258 on Jan. 11, according to Worldometer.

IBD Live: A New Tool For Daily Stock Market Analysis

Deaths in the U.S. began trending lower much later than the drop in new cases. The seven-day average for deaths reported daily hit a high of 3,447 on Jan. 26. Deaths fell to 1,965 on Saturday, then edged slightly higher on Sunday, ending a 25-day decline.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 75.2 million doses of vaccine have so far been distributed in the U.S. Some 63.09 million doses have been administered. At Dec. 30, fewer than 11.5 million doses had been distributed, with about 2.1 million shots administered.

I called this. Thanks JOE!

After Leading School Closures, Berkeley Teachers' Union President Spotted Dropping Daughter Off at In-Person Preschool.

https://www.kqed.org/news/11862469/afte ... -preschool

"Parent groups are crying "hypocrisy" after a video surfaced showing the president of the Berkeley teachers union dropping off his two-year-old daughter at an in-person preschool.

Matt Meyer, president of the Berkeley Federation of Teachers, has fought for what he called the "gold standard" for the teachers he represents — saying Berkeley schools should only reopen to in-person learning when educators are vaccinated, among other criteria."

Two-time gold medalist says he would rather miss Olympics than get Covid vaccine.
https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/summ ... -1.5931481

"Olympic champion sprinter Yohan Blake of Jamaica said he would rather miss the Tokyo Games than get the COVID-19 vaccine, although getting vaccinated will not be required of the athletes competing there this summer."

"My mind still stays strong, I don't want any vaccine, I'd rather miss the Olympics than take the vaccine, I am not taking it,"
:thumbsup2:

With the vaccines rolling out we really should be able to lift more restrictions. About 2/3 of seniors in WA have been vaccinated now (at least first dose), and they represented 90% of the deaths. We should see a big drop in deaths over the next few weeks and therefore should be able to reopen a lot of stuff without great harm.

I assume it's similar in TX and that's why they are removing restrictions. It's logical. Lower death rate justifies less precautions.

Oh yes!!! PLEEEAAASE let this be a tsunami of mandates being dropped in states with Republican governors. Let the states with Democratic governors sweat it out a little longer - just to make a point. (I don't mean to dump on you Washingtonians. Us Coloradans have the same problem...)
