Quote: Veteran kicked out of Everett McDonald's after open-carrying weapon Jonathan Nagel said he was asked to leave after obeying the manager's orders of putting his knife away. Author: Vanessa Misciagna Published: 9:08 PM PST January 20, 2020 Updated: 4:52 AM PST January 21, 2020 EVERETT, Wash. — Over the weekend, an incident occurred at an Everett McDonald's surrounding the issue of open-carrying weapons.
Jonathan Nagel is a veteran who served in Afganistan and practices martial arts. Around his neck, he carries with him a curved blade, looking like a 4-inch-long talon, called a karambit, in a leather sheath.
"I carry it every day," said Nagel. https://www.king5.com/article/news/local/veteran-kicked-out-of-everett-mcdonalds-after-open-carrying-weapon/281-c5399b4c-3f7a-421a-bcf1-cd2ef1e89d3a?fbclid=IwAR2SCy8OQ7a9LRIBF3c7UVif-cQnq-6_ZosPnj8zrPIeZqvV7lOPRrDV9ik

I may back off my original comment.
Where would a person that has a name like Alefa Eserjose come from?
Maybe she brings something with her heritage/ country of origin?
Its still America, no?
I mean the multi b/millionaire gets to say no guns in his coffee shop.....so

His veteran status has nothing to do with this.

This comes down to nothing more than an ignorant snowflake minimum wage employee that's conditioned to be scared of anything pointy or potentially dangerous. In reality it isn't much different than OCing a pistol. They ask you to leave and you leave and never go back. End of story. Not really sure why this is news...the business has a right to ask him to leave. It's a dumb reason and they should be ashamed of themselves but thats the law.

I think it is more about the color of the skin, than about being armed. Here is another example of racism - H Mart in Federal Way (see attached screenshots from Yelp).
Another place that is no different is Bear Arms in Covington. Just today our plant manager told me how he was tailgated by the old lady (store owner?), although there were other customers in the store, only because he was the only black person there.

I'm surprised Bear Arms is still in business.

Quote: Unlawful Carrying and Handling Section 9.41.270, captioned Weapons apparently capable of producing bodily harm–Unlawful carrying or handling–Penalty—Exceptions, is at the opposite end of the carry scale from concealed. It makes it unlawful for weapons to be overly visible:
It shall be unlawful for any person to carry, exhibit, display, or draw any firearm, dagger, sword, knife or other cutting or stabbing instrument, club, or any other weapon apparently capable of producing bodily harm, in a manner, under circumstances, and at a time and place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons. I could not find anything on length of blade.

The following definitions apply in this chapter:

But that goes on to say:
10.78.030 Unlawful use of weapons—Generally. A. It is unlawful for any person to:
2. Carry concealed on his person any dangerous knife; provided, that a dangerous knife carried openly in a sheath suspended from the waist of a person is not concealed within the meaning of this subsection; or
So it's A-OK to open carry that knife, in fact required.
