The title of this thread needs to be changed to “Riots in Minneapolis After Officer Murders Man in Street”
What they did to that man was terrible, but I don't believe it rises to the level of murder. Manslaughter perhaps, but not murder. People do have a right to be very pissed. Two wrongs don't make a right, though; the looting and arson removes any supposed moral high ground.

I can see you on the last piece - the looting and arson is unacceptable.
...but the first point is pretty clear to me, people were screaming at that cop to stop for 5 minutes. He wouldn’t even make eye contact with them - he knew what he was doing.

Thus...murder.
What was the motive, then? Do you believe the officer meant to kill him?

Yes. He was cuffed. He was on the ground and calm. The other cops were acting like look outs and didn't even come close to try to stop him. There was a police SUV right there they could of put him in. Motive? He had a history. A history of the times he was caught doing wrong. Who knows what he actually got away with.

That is highly improbable. This is not a defense of what they did, but I think we need to be realistic and objective in our assessment of the level of criminality to which it rises.

Because looting is the right course of action here.
You're seeing a lot of people getting all uppity about how this protest was handled with force on the side of the police station and local government. Yet the protests of the government Covid closures are being seen as white people can bring guns as a show of force, and government stands there with no action. I think the biggest take away is the fact having an armed citizenship that shows up to protest the government...and they (government) do nothing, shows why we need the 2nd Amendment. Maybe that is an oversimplification.
