if you are not a neilson family with a monitor on your tv signal or send the information in to them via internet or US Mail then your views are not counted. The ratings are a calulation by Nielson based on a calculation of how many people with a monitoring system are watching and then
Nielson uses math to come up with the ratings number.
my wife used to have us as a nielson family because they pay in US Savings Bonds we have many thousands of dollars from that collected since the 1960 times.
there are not that many "nielson families" in the USA only approxmately 20,000 house holds and they only monitor house holds public tvs like a bar or hotel are not monitored.

so only if you are a nielson family at home with the NFL on do they get any data worth any money otherwise you are just watching tv
