I care.
I got my BS in geology right during the oil crisis in 91. I LOVED minerals and was supposed to go make big money in the oil fields. And then I couldn't get a job. The Geology department was throwing a big party because they had their first recruiter come through in three years. I switched to computer science--they had ~100 recruiters coming to campus each year.
