it isn't. i read in the innerwebs that there some act or something that prohibits gubmint from disseminating propaganda in the US. if gubmint is telling FB to flag content then FB is an agent of the gubmint.
this plays right into Trump's hands with his lawsuits against bIG tECH, hopefully

Yep - Section 230 abuse right there.... "Trump swings for the wall.... and its going..... going..... GONE!!!!!"

He just needs to show the connection earlier --- which I'm sure he has ample evidence.

look at this shit...
https://www.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/surgeon-general-misinformation-advisory.pdf

page 12

Quote:
What Technology
Platforms Can Do
Assess the benefits and harms of products
and platforms and take responsibility for
addressing the harms. In particular, make
meaningful long-term investments to address
misinformation, including product changes.
Redesign recommendation algorithms to avoid
amplifying misinformation, build in “frictions”—
such as suggestions and warnings—to reduce the
sharing of misinformation, and make it easier for
users to report misinformation.
Give researchers access to useful data to
properly analyze the spread and impact of
misinformation. Researchers need data on
what people see and hear, not just what they
engage with, and what content is moderated
(e.g., labeled, removed, downranked), including
data on automated accounts that spread
misinformation. To protect user privacy, data can
be anonymized and provided with user consent.
Strengthen the monitoring of misinformation.
Platforms should increase staffing of multilingual
content moderation teams and improve the
effectiveness of machine learning algorithms
in languages other than English since nonEnglish-language misinformation continues
to proliferate. Platforms should also address
misinformation in live streams, which are more
difficult to moderate due to their temporary
nature and use of audio and video.
61
Prioritize early detection of misinformation
"super-spreaders" and repeat offenders. Impose
clear consequences for accounts that repeatedly
violate platform policies.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal policies
and practices in addressing misinformation
and be transparent with findings. Publish
standardized measures of how often users are
exposed to misinformation and through what
channels, what kinds of misinformation are most
prevalent, and what share of misinformation is
addressed in a timely manner. Communicate why
certain content is flagged, removed, downranked,
or left alone. Work to understand potential
unintended consequences of content moderation,
such as migration of users to less-moderated
platforms.
Proactively address information deficits. An
information deficit occurs when there is high
public interest in a topic but limited quality
information available. Provide information
from trusted and credible sources to prevent
misconceptions from taking hold.40
Amplify communications from trusted
messengers and subject matter experts.
For example, work with health and medical
professionals to reach target audiences. Direct
users to a broader range of credible sources,
including community organizations. It can be
particularly helpful to connect people to local
trusted leaders who provide accurate information.
Prioritize protecting health professionals,
journalists, and others from online
harassment, including harassment resulting from
people believing in misinformation.

Funny in one thread here, libs complain about USA's shameful past.
Yet, currently, their man, their weak brained man is actually holding POLITICAL prisoners in the USA.

Fox has quietly implemented its own version of a vaccine passport while its top personalities attack them.
https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/19/media/fo ... index.html
Quote:
New York (CNN Business)Tucker Carlson has called the idea of vaccine passports the medical equivalent of "Jim Crow" laws. And other Fox News personalities have spent months both trafficking in anti-vaccine rhetoric and assailing the concept of showing proof of vaccination status.
But Fox Corporation, the right-wing talk channel's parent company, has quietly implemented the concept of a vaccine passport as workers slowly return back to the company's offices.

That pesky L word. 'Liability'.

Someone gets it, then sues the company and says they got it at work.

First question they're gonna ask is 'What steps did the company take to limit the spread of disease'?

Same reason there are 'ALL EMPLOYEES MUST WASH HANDS AFTER USING RESTROOM' signs in bathrooms.

The same prosecutor's office responsible for prosecuting the McClosky's for brandishing their guns, didn't show up to prosecute a guy for murder... So he got set free...

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2021/07/19/kimberly-gardners-st-louis-prosecutors-dont-show-up-to-court-known-felon-accused-of-first-degree-murder-released/

Quote:
After three missed court hearings by prosecutors, the judge was forced to drop a murder case because no one other than the defense, a public defender, was showing up in court.

Quote:
Circuit Judge Jason Sengheiser on Wednesday dismissed first-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful gun possession charges against Brandon Campbell, 30, after no one from the Circuit Attorney’s Office showed up for scheduled hearings in May, June and July.

Defend your property? Gonna put forth every effort to prosecute. Felon murdering another drug dealer? 'Meh... oh.. oops.. we forgot..'

Wait, what? Is it a crime to burn a BLM flag?

It would be nice if they could include some freaking detail.

Probably being labeled as a "hate crime", so that it isn't protected under the 1A. Brought to you by the same sort of people who burn U.S. flags with impunity. It's only a crime if you're the bad guy, and what's being established here...is that right-wing conservatives are the bad guys.
