Last weeks trip was Highway12 diner in rochester.

Does Red Robin count?
I like their Tavern Burger and bottomless fries. Although very bad for my carb count.

Kidd Valley was the go-to place at the UW back in the 70s. Their burgers and tequila were our two main food groups.

5 guys, IMO, is the best. I agree about their buns not being the best though. I bypass it by getting it in a bowl, with lettuce wrap.

Double bacon cheese, extra lettuce, sauteed shrooms, sauteed onions, light sauteed jalapeno, sauteed green pepper, side of mayo. I then cut up the burger, and turn it into a salad of sorts.. Fucking delicious.

The ungodly amount of fries you get is great, especially since they're not processed, and are cut potato wedges that are fried. 1 meal that costs 12$ will usually last 2 meals.

Nice to know you don't like Dicks (only saying it because I'm too far away to backhand).

I think their bottomless garlic fries are downright dangerous.. Before you know it, you're 3 baskets in, and thinking 'oh, shit'...

We recently (last few months) got The Habit Burger Grill in Bonney Lake.

Usually get a Char Burger with Cheese and Onion Rings, topped off with a chocolate shake.

My favorite to date.

Whats your opinion?

I had Frugels as #1 but after discovering Richwine's Burgerville in Polson MT, they are THE BEST, but not a chain.
Today I had a 5 guys, 2nd time in my life. It didn't hurt, they were gentle to my patties.

So here's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it (so are the burgers sticking to me)

#1- 5 guys burgers. Absolutely juicy and very customizable. Best buns too. Reminds me of my wife. Pretty good, but way overpriced.
#2- Frugels. Like 5 guys, every thing is fresh, and a nice big meaty patty. At my age, any big meaty patty in a storm!
#3- Shake Shack. OMG, I drool when ordering. Maybe its my age but they're pretty damn good.
#4- Fuddruckers. Thick like yo mama! I like their fries too.
#5- InandOut. Worst ever.
Honorable mention: Whataburger. Great if your car needs an oil change.

LMAO!!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Five Guys: Pretty great. in the realm of the "sloppy juicy" burger realm. Great fries and Cajun seasoning. Looks really sloppy and ready to fall apart but really tasty.
Shake Shack: Kind of the photo-esque idea of a burger, like a burger emoji. Great to look at, tastes pretty good. But looks better than it tastes. Kind of the opposite of Five Guys. Fries are okay, frozen crinkle cut fries but whatever
Culvers: I don't get it. It's buttery, but I feel like everything there isn't well seasoned from the burgers to the fries all lacks salt that you need to put on yourself.
Five Guys: Not so secret menu is a pain but Double double animal style is pretty something. Fantastic char on the burgers and the right "good low quality" to iceberg lettuce, American cheese, and russian dressing. Fries are awful, even cooked well-done I'd rather have frozen fries since they only fry them once.
Freddy's: Out on the midwest Freddy's has kind of been the king of value to me, they are similar to Shake shack but much more affordable around $7-$8 a burger meal with shoe string fries that are perfect for what they are. Smashed burgers with lots of char, good seasoning and great choice of cheese, topping and buns.

Note: I came to King County a year ago, and Dicks burgers has been entirely disappointing. It sort of tastes like the value menu of Mcdonald's but because it's a cultural institution I guess everyone accepts it. The one unrelated that is in Spokane is better.

That was my experience many years ago, and I haven't bothered going back.

I’m born and raised in western WA. Dicks and I started the same year. A basic Dicks cheeseburger will always be a favorite

5 guys, I can spec one to be pretty good

In n Out is another I enjoy when I’m in an area they have locations

That said, I learned from this thread that Habit is in WA. I had only seen them in CA. They make a damn good burger

Of course it’s all personal taste and preferences

Leaving the chains, I can let out a local Lynden secret.
Underground Burger. Killer burgers done right, all fresh, buns toasted and Secret sauce that could be a controlled substance...fries just as good.
