Sweet cars. I feel bittersweet that my current model vw gti with just bolt ons(downpipe, a bigger turbo and tune) that makes 400 whp can beat it any and every way imaginable.
In a 1/4 mile or top speed? (QUICK or Top Speed? A stock 1967 Shelby GT500 was recorded at 170 mph, and it averaged 142 mph for 500 miles to set a record.
For sure quarter mile, many guys with a similar setup have ran in the 11's, and others have done 170-180+, I've hit something somewhat lower than that but up there. In the twisties there wouldn't be much of a challenge for me.
I'm not shitting on the car at all, it's apples to oranges, but just interesting that an econobox can beat one of the baddest cars from back in the day without cracking the engine open
