Assume AZ is 75% effectivec and the Chinese vaccine is 50%, and they vaccinated half with each. Then the have achieved a 0.5*0.67*0.5+0.5*0.67*0.75=42% mitigation. If the R of the virus is anything over 1/.42=2.4 then they have a growing outbreak. And that's assuming AZ is 75% effective against whatever they have, it may be less. |

I just dont understand the full court press of the vaccinations. If they keep people from getting it as badly, then why worry about people who choose not to get it?
