They aren't writing off the cars because of a scratch, insurance companies are making BANK at salvage with parts in high demand. As soon as production and 3rd party parts come into play, that smoke and mirror game is over.

Big D: I think you better put off plans for Hawaii this year (and next?) and put the Tesla up for sale, because this is going to set you back a few bucks.

1.74 seconds. Holy. Shit.

How the hell does it keep traction?

0-250 MPH in 21 seconds?

A man whose Tesla Model Y caught fire on a California highway says customer service asked him to haul the burned husk of his car to their service center
https://www.businessinsider.com/california-man-tesla-caught-fire-customer-service-strange-advice-2023-5?utm_campaign=business-sf&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR0P3ZUm9QbouWcZGeS8xVuCTyLAqVbku7KfmIKTPvIqolDThh4JWm0Eqvg

Quote:
When his Tesla went up in flames, Bishal Malla contacted the company's customer service hoping for answers. Instead, he was met with silence and one absurd recommendation to drag his burnt car to a Tesla-servicing center.

Malla, a California resident, was out running errands in his Tesla on May 6. As he was about to enter Highway 99, he felt his car shaking and got out to check for a flat tire.

Instead, he found smoke coming from the bottom. Soon enough, his entire car was engulfed in flames.

Just gotta laugh. We all talk and talk about researching and making educated decisions, getting the full story on a situation before passing judgement.
Yet some folks are so eager to take what they are fed and drink the coolaide when it fits their narrative.

Zuck is up to his usual BS and making it impossible to find it again, BUT the ACTUAL full picture of the situation shows that the car was towing a trailer with no way to get close to the charger without blocking all of the other chargers. The car is NOT sitting on it's belly the front bumper cleared the sidewalk and the front tires are keeping it off the ground as it sits...

Where did you read that?
For me, it’s much easier and safe just to unhook the trailer. Moreover, I wouldn’t make myself look like an idiot.
Something tells me that even if the “trailer” story is real, the driver is still fucking dumb.

Was not a read, was the full uncropped picture. Similar to the one I posted showing media bias, the meme/haters(not people here but original net posters) only showed enough to make their point.

Still trying to find it to post. I h8 how fb changes what you see in feeds all the time. Saw it 5x lastnight now can't find it.

Spending time to unhook trailer and rehook would likely double time to charge. I would have probably jack knifed in there somehow rather than sit that way also.

EV Achilles heal is charging, and 99% of stations are not setup for pull thru. The demand just not there yet for that format, but it is rising quickly with many EV suv able to tow small loads, plus the rivian/lightning..
