Northern commifornia/ eastern oregano and Idaho are getting hammered! We’ve been lucky so far, but the eye of the storm is directly off our coast All depends on which way it tracks And yes, I work with the weather service

You can easily tell that state gubment steals a lot if power goes above the ground.

Oly had rain this morning. The afternoon was a little breezy, but mostly sunny. Lots of leaves flying. That's it.

Power was out here today for 9 hours....and we rarely lose power. Blowing and raining hard at times, mostly calm now.

Windy here in Sequim from early until 2ish. Just before noon the power blinked long enough for the microwave to loose time but otherwise partially cloudy all day.

Sitting at the puter drinking coffee ~9:30 yesterday morning.... hear a CRACK/CRASH/BOOM sound --- sounded like a 20gauge shot.... went looking out all the windows to see if I could see what happened --- didn't see anything.... Went out to the garage to feed the cat and heard the distinctive sound of FFFFMMMMP --- ZZzzzzzzzzz - transformer blew, but yet lights still on! Got a call from my neighbor who was out of town - getting back Sun night - "could you go up and mend the fence so the dog doesn't get out?'..... Found the source of the loud crack.... Attachment: 20211024_133447.jpg Attachment: 20211024_133501.jpg Attachment: 20211024_133810.jpg Attachment: 20211024_133525.jpg He lost ~1/4 of a monster maple.... He's pretty lucky because he 'usually' parks his truck right in that spot. Honestly - I've been telling him for years that he should drop some of the old partially dead branches... but he always said 'yeah, someday....'. Surprising that it happened in the morning... the winds weren't really all that bad... I ran out to the stores @~2pm and when I walked out of the QFC, the rain was coming down sideways as the wind was swirling everywhichway. Driving home, saw some branches dropping --- right then BAMMMM!!!! -- something hit my windshield -- didn't see a branch, but it hit SOOO hard - I'm amazed my glass didn't break - sounded like a 2# rock hitting the glass.... Seeing all the branches down on the way home - and hearing people say the storm was supposed to go until 11pm - I decided it would be prudent to go down and fill the gas can for the jenny quickly before the power went out.... Of course, once I got back with the gas, the sky broke - rain stopped - and the sun came out. Funny thing is --- neighbor said 'the electric chain saw is in the shed with the cord - cut what you need to'.... I had no idea where to begin that would make any difference..... There is a pretty damn big branch/trunk portion that is hung up on some trees ---- that looks like a recipe for injury..... I'm thinking he is going to need some pros to take care of that one.

No power outages here in East County Grays Harbor. Just a little wind and a lot of rain.

Power back on after 22 hours. Must have been a really big pine cone this time. I swear we are PSE's fuse. Fist to go out last to come back on.

I hated those "Dirty Maples" so much living in WA. I called them widow makers.
I cut down as many as I could reach on my property. They would dull an average of 2 chains per tree.
