My work van is going to be breathing free as soon as I can get cyl #2 valve seat replaced in it. Sorry, just had to do it..... Still hoping Injector. You bastard! I’m hoping too!

The cats were not gummed up, but as any emissions equipment does, they were impeding the exhaust flow. Now a 3 mpg increase doesn’t sound like much, but considering the truck previously averaged 12 mpg it was 25% increase in average efficiency. So, I feel like that’s pretty significant.

I keep seeing this thread title and thinking you mean you removed a pet cat from someone involuntarily, or you had your pet cat stolen.

I thought the OP found a dead kitten in his undercarriage and entered to club of those having to remove the carcass. Guess that just goes to show where my head's at lol

Steal your cat before someone else does. I still had the stock downpipe for my car sitting around collecting dust, got $650 for it

Why bother paying for a more expensive cat, just cut the oem one in half and weld in pipe. Or save the extra work and straight pipe it. No one is going to look under the car to check

Availability and prices are completely jacked up. We replace regularly, gone bad or stolen. Good OEM converters are months out, so now buying aftermarket and welding in place of the old, all because the pieces of worthless should've been aborted shit thieves are making a penny to the dollar. They are lucky to get $40 for a early style cat that lawful business can scrap for $900+. The catalytic converters I've had cut here, they knew what one's to hack out. They're going for the ones that scrap buyers get a hard-on over knowing the quantity of metals, and probably buy knowing it's hot. I have a few rigs we can scrap for $1500+, and the scrap buyer is still making a good percentage from spot price.

You will not find a muffler shop that will put pipes under your vehicle if it had a cat and no longer does as it would be a big fine for them.

I though this thread was going to be about disposition of feral felines.
