Next Saturday is the upper 435th Ave shooting pit clean up. It will start at 8am. It should only take a couple of hours to get it totally cleaned up.
I will provide refreshments.
The DNR will have the gate open by the electric substation for easy access.

If you can help out please respond here or send me a PM.

Good luck Pat, I’m still home bound.

You'd think more people would give a shot about the environment.
I'll call you tomorrow.

The pit clean up was a huge success on Saturday.
We had a good turn out of volunteers, the weather was perfect and we did a through clean up. We picked up the trash fiberglass and cans in the left corner of the lower pit, six large trash bags full.
The upper pit took more time then when we did the lower pit last month.
Both pits have never been so clean since I have been going there.

We have all of the wood in piles , I broke the handle on my wheel borrow so we couldn't get it all in one pile.
Next weekend the local Arlington Ace hardware store has 20% off so I'll buy a new wheel borrow and go up and put off of the wood in one pile where they have there fires in the upper pit.

I've picked up a whole lot of steel rifle & pistol cases. I took the trash over to the Arlington transfer station yesterday. We picked up just under a half a ton of trash.
It weighed .45 tons and the cost was $49.

Not a bad price for a clean shooting pit.
The cost of last month's lower pit was $106, so combined cost was $155.

Last month Trash No Land.org cover the cost of the lower pit, thank you Bill.
Bruce from down south joined in on the upper pit clean up and donated $40 for the upper pit clean up.

I personally want to thank everyone for your help on these clean ups, with out you these clean ups would not be possible and the DNR will shut them down.

Pat

Good work lads!

I’ve done a solo partial pit clean up a few times at a pit located out of North Bend. Nice to have a truck and several people
helping though. Looks like you guys did a great job!

Hi Pat,

Sent you a message but the DNR has an agreement with Sno Co to pick up bagged trash during a DNR cleanup. I can give the POC to anyone doing a cleanup in Snohomish.
