Hurricane Ian takes aim at Tampa

Well, 10+ft storm surge, and a direct hit... Downtown Tampa is said to not be able to handle that and will be flooded, including the city hospital...

Just spoke to one of my cousins who lives in St. Petersburg. He told me the hospitals have already been evacuated and are now preparing for the hurricane. Traffic is all knotted up but at least hitting up Palm Beach and Miami are options. Not everybody is going to go directly north to some other place.

My cousin just moved there. He's buttoning up all the storm shutters but they are a young couple and they were going to go buy a gun but if I recall FL has a 3 day waiting period so probably too late.

The only reason I won’t live below I10 in the panhandle, that extra 50 miles away from the coast is a little less to worry about.
