What is the kWh rates for all you guys?
Clallam County PUD is .0778 - 2200 s/f all electric home here and my highest bill in winter has been $155.00, keeping the house @70 plus degrees from 8am to 11pm seven days a week.

Is everyone else like this? Holy cow. They say people in Europe are going to freeze to death for energy costs. People here will too. I make decent money even though it’s been slow, I can’t imagine people that make less tha what I do. And this is for a 1600 sqft house. icon_eek icon_eek

My gas usage was 2 therms higher this year than last year at this time. My bill had a $40. The reason is that PSE introduced Tiered pricing. Your first 63 (I think) therms are around .04 per therm. After that they're about .062 - it shows you on your bill under the itemization.

That being said, my house is 4600 sqft with an indoor pool. My bill was $480. Pretty much all of my increase was associated with gas (gas furnace, stove, WH, fireplaces, etc). So I think you're getting screwed.

Our first house payment in 1990 (Federal Way now known as Funeral Way) was $850/month. Jebus, I think our electric bill was $65/month.

Ours is .123 for over 600. Therms used were around 2300 iirc. Thing is, last January I used 3100 therms and my bill was nowhere near this.

I have no idea about "therms" or any of that shit. We are all Electric here and even in the coldest months with the Heat pump out bill didn't exceed 250 bucks.

Eastern WA used to have the lowest rate in the Nation with all the Hydro Dams, wtf happened?

Are you confusing Therms for Kilowatts? Reason I ask is that this matches my KW billing (I had to go check). Here's the cut and past from my bill.

Your Electric Charge Details (32 days) Rate x Unit = Charge
Electricity
Tier 1 (First 600 kWh Used) 0.093712 600 kWh 56.23
Tier 2 (Above 600 kWh Used) 0.113543 1,496 kWh 169.86

Your Natural Gas Charge Details (32 days) Rate x Unit = Charge
Gas Cost (10/21/2022 - 10/31/2022) 0.489580 63.079 Therms 30.88
Gas Cost (11/1/2022 - 11/21/2022) 0.623210 123.059 Therms 76.69

When I moved here in 1998, electricity was like .02/KW.........
