Im not wiring 110. 10a 220 is the project. If the advice given is correct, which is what i have been able to cross reference, the 4th wire is NOT used so 12/3 leaves a wire that wont be connected to anything.

If your 220v machine has a 3-prong plug, and not a 4-prong plug, you don’t need the fourth (neutral) wire. However it’s Not a terrible idea to just leave it in the box in case you want to wire up a different configuration in the future

Success. Thanks folks!
On to a new project. Gonna add a 30a RV plug in my shop.
I did a google search on romex prices... Holy f*ck! I need about 90 feet of 8-2 romex, is there a cheaper way to buy it than getting a roll at the home depot?
