My good friend of 30 years called to let me know his father passed away yesterday.
"Wild Bill" Jones served in the Navy in WWII aboard the USS Jamestown, he was part of most the naval battles in the pacific and was on board the USS Missouri to witness the Japanese surrender. He was 98 years old, passed in his sleep. His family was there, I think they knew the time was near.
