I have a better idea, set up at the same place as the TCSO buy back, but 1 day early. Post adverts that the buy back starts the day earlier. Buy the guns, have them checked against the stolen gun database, the stolen ones get turned in to the TCSO buy back....

I don't know about that. What if they get wind of it and then they for some reason decide to check you after you have said guns and they are stolen wouldn't you be in trouble for possession of stolen gun?

I'd be in...can almost walk there from my house. I wouldn't be surprised if there's only a handful of worthy guns that come through. I'm sure it would be mostly old stuff.

I'd assume they will do the buyback in the large parking lot behind the station, there's also a grange there. I think just a few people (3-5 tops) should be there. We wouldn't want to look like a pack of wolves cornering a sheep. I agree with the flat price somewhere between $20 and $50.

Maybe a better approach would be how much is that gun you're throwing away worth??

And I have no idea about Snaza, but is he really that anti 2A? He was pretty reassuring about defending yourself during breakins when he did our neighborhood watch training thing. He didn't bat an eye when I OC'd there either.

From my dealings with Snaza he is pretty pro 2A. I went to a fund raiser for him at a bowling alley, and I was OC'ing a full size 18 round 9mm and he was all smiles.

Why on earth would we want an FFL there? If we're going to keep the state's fingers off as many firearms as possible, then a FFL would do nothing but confuse the issue. Citzens conducting private sales on public property are legal PERIOD

I think weve established that there should NOT be an FFL at this event. My original thought was it may help lend some ligitimacy and a federally vetted buyer which may soothe the ignorants minds.

I agree with the concept of an FFL present to establish a certain above board look to the process of attempting to buy guns from strangers...You guys have to look at this from the eyes of the NON GUN JOE PUBLIC...AND they are gonna see things way differently than us pro gun guys are. They are gonna go there to get rid of the evil nasty guns to the proper authorities that are a threat to the public at large in their eyes. I just don't think the image that those people will get is gonna be a positive one towards progun people.

I don't think the turn in is going to have a lot of guns-are-bad kind of people. I think they are going to be the people who are indifferent to them. They have a shotgun in their closet that they got when grandpa died etc. The guns-are-bad people don't have guns to turn in, and if they did, they are not in our buying demographic.
