just like our guns always have to tinker and add stuff. Who did you go with for a seat? seat concepts said they would custom build me one for 250. they'll make it 2" inches taller and add heavier foam for my weight.

Absolutly right on that man. As for my seat don't hold me to it, but believe it is a Sargent. Hell I bought it same time as I bought my Two Brothers pipe, and that was when I turned 1,000 miles on er. I prefer my stock seat due to the fact that it is taller, but not as comphy on a long day or two ride. Third dual sport I have had, and won't be the last

So not to happy with the seat huh? Im 6'4 about 320lbs so i was going to add 2 or 3" and do fat foam. its just a lot of money . im scared lol

Can always make your own seat outa carpet foam spray glued together an cut shaped with an orbital sander just to your preference. Can even add different compression foam.
An it may be easier to install lowered foot pegs for them tall fools to try an keep some reasonable lower center of gravity. My KLR is like riding a ladder on wheels and I'm 5'9", may not help with almost 7 gallons of fuel.

Thanks man, Been on advrider for a couple weeks. My buddy has the dr650 with the seat concept seat he loves it. his came with the gel seat and he didnt like it. said it hurt.
I tried to get them to let me do it myself but they havent made a tall seat for my bike yet so they need the seat pan so they can custom make one for the first time. tryin to talk them into doing it for two and id slap some stickers on my bike. lol plus i reminded them after mine they would have a design for others ready to go so they should hook me up. lol

where can you find that stuff? something to think about. i thought about dropping the pegs a inch and half down and welding them straight to the frame. but i dont want to mess up my ground clearence. plus i dont know how to weld lol

Upholstry shops.....some people scavenge the foam from wrecking yard automotive and marine seats.

You could always go the standard el cheapo dual sporter route and use a sheepskin cover. With matching farkles...

If your bike is new, don't weld to the frame. Honda no be happy with yoooo..

Most all the aftermarket places carry them. Dont weld em to your frame,easier to unbolt a bent peg than cut one off. Ground clearence is determined by throttle control and rear grip!!!
I lower mine with links so both feet hit the ground when stopped and really dont have a problem unless I'm hitting the twisties on the slab hard and dragging pegs.I go by peg scrape as the limit of rear tire adhesive friction with hard dual sport tires that last more than 2500 miles. These arent street or dirt bikes and do neither well, but will do both if your sphincter is tight and have some upper body strength.

It's not new. its an 07 but only had 3200 on it. got it super cheap to!! In me head i knew what i meant with the welding. lol but the peg nut is on top of this odd looking triangular bracket thats about an inch and a half tall. thought about cutting that all out and just welding the nut to the frame. wither on top or the bottom. that way i can still bolt them on and off.
I hate dragging pegs. i do it all the the time on the vrod and it scares me every f-ing time. lol

It's worse on a DS when the peg is 2x as high as the V-Rod pegs. An odd feeling for sure, especially when the Dunlop 606 slips a little and you find yourself peg dragging AND drifting at the same time....on a dirt bike...on pavement...with farkles all over it.

You'll crash a few (dozen) times before it gets old hat...

i couldnt imagine draggin pegs with the dunlops on. like you were saying these bikes are tall. that's a long ways over.
what kind of mileage do you get out of yours? about 4k?

Im hoping to never crash again. got tboned buy a drunk F&^% on my old motorcycle, leg snapped in half, a month in harnor view, and another 3 months stuck in a bed. Everyone thought i was a tard for getting another bike.
