Looks like a couple have a good dual sport(KLR)
Id post a pic of mine but havent a clue how, if you know KLR's mines an 06' lime green meanie, with a gun rack on the back......
Im more fair weather rider. Make a few runs, 350 mile day trips, a 600 miler overnight over the hill and alot of local 100+ trips just to get out for a few hours, try an stick to areas we know as last year had a rough trip crossing over from Wenatchee to I-90 and bout didnt make it out of there, area more suited to 4x4the quad or jeep.
Most all my areas are under snow and a couple that wont be clear until end of June.

lots of klr's in here. and no honda xr's :(
Glad to see there's so many of us around here. figured there would be thought, guns and bikes kinda go together. lol
Have any of you ever carried your gun on your back while riding? if so any shit from the PO?

Ive carried one across my back, with another in the rear rack and another in a thigh rig, never had an issue and when the time comes I get pulled over by some over zealous officer, i'll do whatever he says.... Ive been on a hundred rides where I've spent been next to on the road, in a gas station, some place to to get off the seat to stretch and even restruants where an officer has seen a weapon on me and although i may get a good look over or plate run have not had any issue.

HaHaHa with all the love I have put into my DR650. I can throw that baby up on one wheel, and give any KLR a run for there money
Further more I thought only Rhonda rode a Honda BawHaHaHa J/K J/K

Um, you should be able to put it up on one wheel. What those things weight, 134lbs with the fuel tank full at a gallon and a have and a 3 inch wide seat? Hell, the seats so narrow you probably spend most your time standing on pegs getting bored so have lotsa practice pulling on them bars! Wait, maybe your refering to the DR wheel flop when it thinks its going on a distance ride on the slab the front caliper clamps up tight!!
Screwing with ya slick, if it wasnt for the xt's dr's and what, us KLR riders wouldnt be able toss back the shit that the BMW guys sling at us.

2001 DRZ400 S, 19,000 with a jet kit, 3x3, full yoshi, ebc 32mm brake kit, etc. I ride everyday to work down in auburn and back home to burien. So if you see me give a honk and a finger.

HaHaHa luv it man. Honestly with the three DR's I have owned I have never had a problem with em, and I truly love them. I ride em like I stoled them. Always keep up on all maintenance, and never put them away wet, well possibly every once in awhile. Someday I will have a KLR next to my 07 DR & my 1400 intruder in the garage. The KLR's to me are like a twin to the DR with exception of the Fairings. Hope all is well STED9R nice to see your still on this side of the fence

i love the pics man. That's why i got a dual sport, so i can check out some nature. Seeing these klr's i almost wish i would have went that way. they look so much cooler

The XR650L is a much more capable dual sport on the dirt/trail side, where the KLR is more capable on the hardtop side than the XR.
The KLR is not that great of a "dirt" bike. Particularly the '08-current model.
Where the KLR shines is bang for the buck. It will do a 1,500 mile road trip across I-90 and be able to hit all the dirt paths along the way, for a total price of less than a marginal down payment on its competitors from the likes of KTM, BMW, etc.
So, it depends on what you plan on doing with the bike. If you're going to be on woods road and trails most of the time, you picked the right bike. If you're going to be on the street, you didn't.
