Just wondering what people are using equipment wise, where you frequent, etc.

I golfed with my grandparents a lot when I was younger. But haven't till two years ago, and it has been a lot of fun getting back into it. Picked up a decent set of clubs off Craigslist two years ago too, but I need to start swapping out clubs. I picked up a brand new driver and it has been awesome. I'm looking to getting a new putter and wedge and I should be good.

Suggestions? I know getting fitted would be the best option.

Taylor Made Burners are my go to irons.

I’m still playing with my wood and hybrid options.

Send a PM to dan360, that man has a club collection that would make Tiger Woods jealous.

I like to go to the Driving range once a Year or so and try to hit the little Tractor picking up the balls. Moving Targets are way more fun and the Cage around the driver kind of rings like AR-500 when you get a clean hit.

Golf would be way more fun with .22's. Think about it....You could use the AR Golf ball Launcher to "Tee off" on a Par 4 or 5, then go to a .22 LR to move the ball to maybe a 2 foot hole.
50 yards to the Green? HV.22 LR. Say it's 10 to 25 yards? .22 standard or short. Putting? Aguila Powder free 20 grain.

2A people would eat that shit up. Hell, i'd probably forget all about Trap shooting for that.

Used to play with my dad as a little kid all the way up to highschool, but haven't had time since with college, now work, and all my new hobbies.

Had a killer set of Mizuno irons and sand and lob wedges that are probably still at my parents' place. Also got a Ruger-made Big Bertha Warbird driver from my dad that I started out with before getting Taylormade woods.

I'd suggest buying from a pro shop at a course or golf shop with an indoor "range" with a net and such so you can try everything out and get a feel for the sweet spots before buying anything.

Last sentence nailed it, especially if you are tall or short. Being tall I have found lengthening my clubs and then jumbo grips for large hands has done wonders. Other than that watch CL/offerup for deals if you want to change. But honestly just get out and play and have fun.

It’s not really the equipment, it’s the swing. A good golfer can do just fine with a set of Goodwill clubs. But If you want nice clubs, go for it. However, if you want to score better, spend your money on lessons, driving range time, and actually playing.

I use a set of taylormade rac’s that I’ve had since 2002. Used to play/practice daily but have been out of it for over 6 years. Been trying to get back though

This thread motivated me to grab the kid and head the 2 grueling blocks to hit some balls.

210 I think. Easily overshot. They only want old people and kids to drive. On the top of that hill is the 8th green.

On your point about lessons, get lessons from a PGA pro if possible. It is amazing what they can do for your swing. I took a few lessons from Gary Lindeblad in Spokane back when I was in high school and after just a few tweaks to my swing I was much more consistent in landing shots where I was aiming, hitting straighter drives, and even hitting the ball an extra 10-20 yards or so.
